So lately, I've seen a couple of strange blind bags with odd eyes. They look painted on rather than Hasbrolike.

I messaged the seller and asked about it, and she said she got this one in a shipment of official Hasbro items. I'm waiting on her to respond on what's under the hooves. The other one was from a different seller (actually, in a completely different continent), which just adds to the mystery.

What do you think? Someone getting creative with the acetone/resin? Or did they somehow get blank, unpainted bbs and decide to put eyes on?

I'm thinking they got creative with acetone. Those eyes are definitely painted, though I agree it's super weird that they have two different sellers!

Those ponies look like the knock-off blind bag ponies- I bet they (or someone) painted eyes on them.

Weird! :/ There's just so many potential factors in how their eyes got that way...
On the other hand, unpainted blind bags would be kinda neat-- budget "design your own" ponies! Do they have cutie marks?

The blue one doesn't appear to, the purple one only shows one side

With Rarity, I suppose either side could be the display side, but mostly they put her cutie mark on the side with the unraised leg.

Strange eyes aside, I like the colors of these. Very vibrant and pretty.

I've always assumed those two were Trixie and Amethyst Star from wave 3 that never got glittered up, but I hadn't noticed the poor eyes before. Curious. I checked the gold and purple metallic Rarity figures for comparison, and their eyes are totally normal.

It looks to me like some of the paint is factory and some isn't. If I had to guess I'd think they were misprinted seconds that someone decide to try to fix the eyes on.

Yes this is what I would go with as well. Would not be the first time a seller thinks doing this adds value along the way. :)
