$25? Not sure if the different colors fetch different prices...
$70-80 with the pony:

I think all are rare, so I'm not certain that color would make much of a difference. I'm still sticking with $25+ perhaps someone else has some input.

I agree with the $25 valuation on the more common colors, but the yellow Snoozy one I would say $30-$35, since its the harder to find one.

I have 2 yellow diapers for the 2 Snoozy variations I paid around $15-20 for each one. Out of the 3 babies in that set, Snoozy is in the middle rarity-wise with Cuddles (green diaper) being the most common & Bouncy (pink diaper) being the most hard to find.

The one tricky thing with these diapers is that Hasbro made a very similar diaper in the same fabric sold with their Drink & Wet Puppy Surprise in the early-mid 90's, as well. I was mistakenly sold a diaper from that set labeled as one of the Surprise Newborn diapers. Surprise Newborn Pony diapers have stitched sides (hip area) & velcro at the tail. Puppy Surprise diapers have velcro on each side/hip, and no tail hole.

It's really interesting how the floats for the seaside babies and the rings/bracelets for Jewellery babies/clips for sweetie babies get such high prices, but Surprise Newborn nappies go for so much less. I wonder why that is...it's not as though they're really any more common to find. Is it a matter of demand?

I also didn't know about those similar nappies. I've also only ever had the ones that came direct with ponies - my own Bouncy and two from another collector who had them from new - so that's a useful tip to know for the future.

I think it might have to do with the possibility to make replacements.
If you have one of those newborns and you really want a diaper for it you could actually make one. It wouldn't be that hard to find similar fabric and velcro and it wouldn't be that many stitches to do either. And the result would be very close to the original.
While with a seaside or jewellery baby it would be much harder to make replacement accessories and even if you did the result would probably be quite different from the original.

Still it's not original if you make it yourself. When I sold my baby with a original nappy pink one with green nappy. I added £15 on for the nappy.

Of course a replacement is not an original. The question is, will people spend the money to buy the original.
Taffeta asked the question, why don't these diapers get such high prices as the jewellery and seaside acc.
I think most collectors don't actually buy everything they want. If an accessory is pricey or rare but possible to make a replacement of they will consider that and instead spend their $$ on items that are impossible to make.
Generally fabric acc are easier to make, it's possible to make them yourself, in your home. While with a plastic acc you would typically commission or buy from someone who specialize in it.
Well that is my theory anyway. Of course in this case it could also be the fact that a diaper isn't exactly as nice as a necklace etc. ;)
