Hi there, I'm thinking of possibly selling my Dancing Butterflies with reverse symbols. She has a few bite marks on her ears and head and her original tail is replaced with Dollyhair.
I'd really like to know what she could be worth?

I am not aware of any others being discovered since that conversation. She may yet be the only one out there, or one of a small batch with others not having been noticed yet.
I personally think the only thing that goes against her is that her tail's been replaced.
-
There are a few of her out there. I have seen 5 others I also have one :)
I don't think she would sell particular high just based on the fact not many people know of the variation and that the variation is quite a subtle difference. I would guess maybe she would sell for $10-20 more than the normal version? I pick mine up for about $10 I saw one sell for $2 not long ago (no one picked up on the reserve symbol)

you all are international so perhaps this is a version not found in the US and that's why unknown ? sorry that comes across as US-centric
I think the reverse coloring is cool and didn't know there were any others found already - kind of like my china sugarberry hunt and I also found there's a china and hong kong variant for boysenberry - light and dark :-)
good to know there are maybe more out there just waiting to be found :-)

I have one, I got her a few months ago in Buy it now lot on eBay. I can’t really put an exact number on her. But she seems to be more available in Canada.

Well, I'm also international and the first one I knew of was the one posted by the OP a while back. I mention this because 'international' is not a blanket term. There are way more variations outside of North America than there are between the US and Canada, and they're not always consistent.
That isn't me backbiting, just highlighting that it's hard to track down if a pony is a regional variation based on just 'international' as a generalisation.
...I'm interested that Nhal has seen so many, though. I do wonder if there was a common geography to those sightings?
The whole China/HK discussion on the TAFs suggest there are more variations we still have to track down.

All the ones I have seen for sale were in the usa or canada, all have been sold by collectors who just didn't notice the difference.

That's interesting.
For all there's often a kneejerk that something a bit different must be 'foreign', a lot of minor variations are US based. But it is a subtle variation, so I imagine it slips the radar quite a lot.

I’ve seen 3-4 of these - another one popped up on Instagram this week.
Maybe sell her on eBay? That way people can bid what they feel she is worth.
My guess would be £30-40 with the flaws mentioned.

thanks for the clarification Taffeta that was said way better than I blurted out - yes the point was I was wondering if it was a distribution situation or just a detail that goes un-noticed as I hadn't formerly realized there was a DB variant so thanks for this thread :-) love all the expert / extra eyes to help confirm other sightings

It's also probably about whether you're looking for the variation, and where it's being shared.
It took a very long time for people to clue into the UK's straight haired CJ and some people still aren't aware of her, but she's been going under the radar en masse on UK auctions for years. Because CJ loses her curls easily, people don't tend to notice if one has straight hair ;)
I think there are a lot of ponies like this and that's why places like this are important.
I should probably start looking for DB and Chinese TAFs. xD. Maybe then I'd find them ;)
-
right - that's what I forgot to ask =
folks that have the reverse DB - hong kong or china?
-
Hong kong
-
Cool, I didn't know there was a reverse symbol one! One of my Spanish DBs has reverse symbols too, but only at the non-display-side :)

Thank you all for your comments and interesting conversation. I decided to list her on ebay. I´m not in a hurry to sell her, so the starting price is not one dollar. :P But let´s see how it goes. ;)
I´m not sure is it allowed to put ebay link here, but if not please let me know.
