I wanted to start a fun topic  ^.^ Sometimes there's a pony, and you feel like they would look so much better if you just slightly altered their color scheme.

For example, I've always thought it would be cool for Miss Painter from G2 to have the 3 primary colors as her color scheme, given she's a painter:

Ah, G1 Ribbon (and Baby Ribbon).  Her color scheme reminds me of my dad's fishing lures...  I would give her more toned-down hair colors, like replace the chartreuse and neon orange with white and like...literally any less-neon color XD   I have similar feelings about Twist.

I would make Steamer less pink. I feel like his color scheme is really not interesting nor particularly pretty. It' not even really better with faded hair Though I like the streak in his mane.

I would changed Magic Star the same colour as Tutti Frutti (oh wait I did as a custom).

THIS, to at least half the Pink Ponies!!! Several G3 Christmas ones would look better in red, while we can go orange, purple, red & burgundy for some more

I would change the hair colour of the regular birth flower ponies. Like, violet with violet hair ect.

I generally dislike pink ponies with bluish or greenish hair, like Baby Schoolbag or Firefly (although it does depend on the shade of pink, and there are some exceptions, plus pink with REAL green hair is gorgeous, like MGR Sunnybunch, Raspberry Jam and prototype boy Baby Schoolbag). I think any other hair colour would be better on some of them.

Also, Snowflake! Who on God's green earth came with the idea to make her hot pink? I like her, but she would be so much prettier in pale blue or something.

And Baby Starflower Stella (the orange one, I am familiar with the discussion, the orange one is Starflower for me anyway) would look so much better with white or bright blue hair... Pale blue would be even better, but there is no pale blue hair in G1. She looks kind of sweaty and gross like this. Which is a shame, because this is one of my favourite sets ever.

The brush n grow ponies hair colors.  I like these ponies but not the color combos in the hair.  Multi-color haired ponies like twinkle-eyed and princess brush n' grow ponies seem to me, for the most part, to work with the pony.  But not the regular brush n' grow set. 
That being said, the Princess ones would benefit from better inspired symbols.

Probably just my personal preference, but I'd include shades, like black hair stripes or grey eyes (that's just because I love pastel goth)

This isn't real drastic or anything, but I have the orange rainbow pony from the 2nd wave of G1 rainbows (I think her name is Flutterbye?) and I was recently cleaning her and looking at her hair thinking how much more striking she would be if her mane colors were reversed or flipped upside down. I'm sure it was just formulaically placed; all the rainbow ponies likely have their colored stripes in the same order, but since this pony is orange and the first stripe is orange, she just looks a little blah. If the lime green stripe was on top next to her face, she'd be stunning!

Medley should have been much prettier in Lime green body, and green hair. Although I love her anyways, but its a little boring with ponies in just one colour :P

It really is a shame there is no original turquoise Rainbow Curl Pony.

Tootsie. Her colors make her look ill and nothing about her makes me think of candy or lollipops. I much prefer the more candy-colored South American variants of her.

Although I do love Powder as she is, this is a cool idea!  I think it would give her a more delicate look, which goes with snowflakes as a theme.  I wonder if her symbol would blend in too much, though.  Maybe it could be a darker color?

I have long felt Princess Celestia should have been a soft golden metallic color, like a real like Akhal Teele horse. And Luna I have always wanted in a pale off white color , like the moon itself.

Green Apple shoulda been green.

Slugger in white/red or white/green.

Sunrise Song woulda looked pretty in pale purple like on her card. Or outrageously vibrant with red/blue/yellow hair like the scarlet macaw. She's still pretty though.

Absolutely! Over here she was white, so this has always been the standard version to my eyes. I first saw a picture of US Tootsie about then years ago and I was shocked at her looks, she looks like a leper.  :X

Her hair color is fine. But morning glories are deep purple. Which in fairness, means we wouldn't be able to see her symbol. So maybe her hair could be deep neon violet?

Chocolate Chipper is such a cute pony but I've always wondered what she'd look like with a mane and tail in a couple different shades of chocolatey brown. Or maybe a nice brown body!

Chocolate Chipper is such a cute pony but I've always wondered what she'd look like with a mane and tail in a couple different shades of chocolatey brown. Or maybe a nice brown body!

I adore both of these ponies as is but I'd love to see alternate customs like this.  Plus I collect pineapples so alternate pineapple paradise would be awesome.

ooOooh I really like the yellow version of pineapple paradise! And I usually don’t like brown/black/white/tan color manes, but that chocolatey brown on chocolate chipper contrasted with the purple body looks... delicious? ^^; It’s going to sound weird but with those curls it makes me think of fudge xD aaaaand I think I should probably eat something lol

I looove the green pineapple! So many (g3s in partcular) are lost chances to make something fun or really push the theme. There really are just too many pink g3s  :P

Thought of 2 more:

G1 Shoreline- I’m disappointed with the white hair :( I feel like the designers really missed an opportunity to color her like a sunset. If I had my way, I’d make her mane orange and pink or orange and yellow to bring back the suns on her body 😎

G1 Nightglider- not really her color-scheme, but how COOL would it have been to have her hair glow in the dark? 🤩 I’m not big on all-white manes, so I think this would’ve added a nice little twist.

I'm thinking of doing one...I have a hairless Peach Blossom in my bait box, and I've been trying to decide which colors to do her hair. Maybe white/aqua/peach? Not sure. I'm just nervous to tackle her, because whatever I choose will have to be permanent, since her neck plug is broken off so I'll have to glue her head on when I'm done rehairing her and I can't seem to commit!

Although her symbols have pinky-peach flowers, I think there there is too much bluey-green.
Hmm could be tempting to see what a rehair in a symbol-matching shade would look like?

I'm thinking of doing one...I have a hairless Peach Blossom in my bait box, and I've been trying to decide which colors to do her hair. Maybe white/aqua/peach? Not sure. I'm just nervous to tackle her, because whatever I choose will have to be permanent, since her neck plug is broken off so I'll have to glue her head on when I'm done rehairing her and I can't seem to commit!

I really don't like Pineapple Paradise's shade of pink with her other colors. I'd much prefer her as green or yellow.

I looove the green pineapple! So many (g3s in partcular) are lost chances to make something fun or really push the theme. There really are just too many pink g3s  :P

How about Skyflier with a purple stripe (Glory's color) in her mane instead of white? It would be more striking, I think; the white just doesn't really stand out to me.

Several of the Birthstone ponies:
Fantastical February-Dark purple with lavender/red/white hair.
March Mischief-Bright green with dark green/white/light green hair. Pot of gold symbol.
July Jubilee-Yellow with red/white/blue hair and fireworks symbol.
October something-Orange with yellow/white hair and a pumpkin.
November Nights-Gray with red/white/yellow hair stars, moon and a barren tree symbol.

G3 Halloween Adults whose hair glows in the dark!!!

My Custom G3 Halloween Babies have streaks of glow in the dark hair while my other Halloween Customs have either bodies or hair which (kind of) glow too!!!

Space-themed Ponies should also have glowing features...

Baby Whirly-twirl does have a cute color scheme, but I think blue with white hair woulda been more appropriate with his helicopter symbol.

I have a Nightglider in need of hair.  There are pastel gitd hairs out there to add a bit of contrast to the white.  And since I made her a baby with a glow body, this could work.

My plan is to make a gitd streak with lavender accents to call back to her planets. I’m doing white gitd hair since her real hair has yellowed a bit.
