Hi ponies,
Who was your first nirvana pony? This could be the first nirvana pony you bought as a collector or a pony you got as a child :newpony:
Mine was Italy Peachy!
I think the Italians are where most people start ;)
Love pkw xxx
-
Italian Bowtie and Italian Peachy, that's for sure. They are childhood ponies and probably got them at the same time. ^^
-
Italy Applejack! Love those blue eyes.
-
Baby Moondream for me!
-
I got mexican Cherries Jubilee only last month! I was surprised that she still had her curls. I'm so happy with her! :lovey:
-
My Venezuelan white Tootsie squeaky butt!
-
Mine was Macau Lemon Drop - her bleeding off-colour symbols are not the best thing about her, but her long hair compensates for everything. I am in love with her hair, and her in general as well :inlove:
-
I bought several lots off eBay from the same seller in the Netherlands. They had other 'normal' ponies in them but also:
Italian:
Applejack
Medley
Moonstone (alt. pose and reversed symbol)
Cotton Candy
Peachy
No Country:
Sundance
I was so excited for that parcel to arrive
-
I never was interested in Nirvanas for a long time of my collectors life. But the first pony to be called a Nirvana that stayed with me until today was Macau Jenny.
-
Greek Minty, Bluebelle and Peachy
-
My very very first was a dull pink walking pose pony with white hair and stamped Italy that had lost her complete symbol. I found her on a fleamarked the day after my decision to officially collect My Little Pony. I was puzzled!! No symbol? wonky eyes? Is that even a real MLP??
FYI, Italian ponies are super common here in Germany (at least the Unicorns and Pegasi, Rainbow Ponies and Earth Ponies) but I had never encountered one in my childhood, as nobody of my friends had for example Applejack or Bowtie and so on (my friends and me even didnt believe that they were really exisiting XD). So, this pony was a mysery to me :P
I was already registered at the german MLP forum so I asked the collectors and we finally came to the conclusion that the pony was Italy Lickety Split :P I kept her like a treasure! Lol!! Found many of her in the following years... :P
-
My first was Italian Bubbles, I found her in a savers here in Minnesota in 2017 :D
I found Yellow Moondancer, Italian Bowtie, Italian Cotton Candy and French Cotton candy at a flea market also here in Minneasota
-
I THINK it was Argie Medley?
-
From my memory, it was Nachtlicht (large symbol).
-
White Italy Tootsie I think.
-
I found Italy Princess Tiffany, Pinwheel and Confetti at a flea market in France.
The first and only one I have bought is Dutch Butterfly 😊
-
I found Italy Princess Tiffany
Do you have a pic?
-
I found Italy Princess Tiffany
No, unfortunately I sold her shortly after I got back - I wish I didn’t! This was about 10 years ago but I did sell her through here if I remember correctly.
Do you have a pic?
-
Hm thats a pity. Was she stamped ITALY? Ive never seen an italy princess pony... only such that were in an italian package.

Yes. I really regret selling her, I didn’t know they were harder to find and I think I sold her pretty cheap. There may still be a thread in the pre-2012 archives.
She definitely said ITALY and had blue oddly-stamped eyes - I remember spotting her and then her distinctive eyes across the street and running to the stall! I bought her with the Italy Pinwheel and Confetti all from the same seller. Other than the eyes and stamp she was exactly the same as the normal release.
-
Hmmmm... gotta find a pic :P Cant access the archive right now, its says a password is required o.0

Yeah I literally just tried to do the same thing XD Weird!
-
Spanish Milky Way was my first (ever) pony :)
-
I got a few in the same lot about three and a half years ago: two Italian Peachys, Italian Lemon Drop, Italian Sprinkles, and Spanish Hopscotch.
-
Pink Argie rainbow baby.
Elf
-
Italian Surprise and Peachy, from the carboot sale. Unless it was Himmelstanzer, also from same carboot sale, but I don't really count that set.
Could equally have been Macau Candy but I think that was later, from a local collector.
Pretty certain it was Surprise and Peachy because I remember kicking up a fuss about them online.
Back in the days before Nirvana was a thing.
-
I just got my first Nirvana this year, actually! She's an Italian Tickle aka Barnaba (I think that's the correct name?) <3
-
I was born in Mexico and my 1st ever Pony was a Lily Ledy Snuzzle. How I wish I still had her. I've been trying to find one, but all the ones I've seen are in such rough shape. :(
-
I never was interested in Nirvanas for a long time of my collectors life. But the first pony to be called a Nirvana that stayed with me until today was Macau Jenny.
Me too! Macau Jenny was my first nirvana too:) Today I have a couple more, but not many. And Jenny is still my fav

I hope to own a Jenny someday. ^.^

Princess Ruby with her yellow Bushwoolie when I was 5. She moved into Dream castle to live with Majesty and hasn't yet moved out.
I never realised she was particularly odd until I saw the brochures as a child and saw Sparks (which made the comics make more sense). I then came online and was thoroughly confused.
What do you mean she's supposed to have metal bits on her rump? What do you mean her mane and tail are supposed to match? What is this madness? :P
-
I always forget, do the Dutch ponies count as Nirvana? If so, then my first was School-baby ^^

Italian Surprise and Peachy :)
-
The first,my childhood pony:Sweet Stuff,Spain
-
Probably Italian Peachy, as a Child (Still have never owned a HK one, though I would want one eventually :P )
The first one bought as a collector I Think was Italian Heart Throb. Or maybe the argie Babies I bought togheter, I Think it was Applejack, Posey, Confetti and one more I dont remember.
-
I think it was the Argi green rockin beat pony.
-
A few days ago, I foud an actual nirvana (to me, as italians are very comon around here) ! It's a French cotton candy. She's in bad shape, I will have to reetore her, bit I'm so proud to have her !
-
My first ones were six brand new Dutch ponies (got them all at once), and then Greek Baby Bluebelle and Brazilian Baby Cuddles in the 90s. I didn't know for sure if Baby Bluebell and Cuddles were official MLPs though--back then no one seemed to know about them.
-
I never was interested in Nirvanas for a long time of my collectors life. But the first pony to be called a Nirvana that stayed with me until today was Macau Jenny.
Me too! Macau Jenny  I always loved her coloring!
-
I had NC Tootsie and Sugarberry in my childhood (I still have them) but I'm Spanish so I guess it doesn't count
When I began to collect them as an adult, I think my first Nirvana was an Argentinean sparkle Fluterbye, shy pose.
-
I would have to say alternative bithflower morning glory. I guess she counts since she was made in another country.
-
My first back in the mid 90's was a light bodied Italian Lickety split.
She had discolorations on her and my mom, wanting to help out, knew that acetone removed most stains.
My now one-eyed and half symboled Lickety split is still with us but she will probably always serve as a reminder not to use acetone on paint you want to keep
-
It was a mexican cotton candy variant IV
-
Either Argie Buttons(found in a lot on ebay) or my first white Blue Belle(only G1 in a lot on ebay of G3 and fakies), depending on if you go by purchase date or recieved, haha! If I remember right, the lot with the Argie got here first, but the Blue Belle was the first one I purchased. :)
-
Macau Minty
Didn’t realise she was different for a fair few years which then led me to buy HK Minty and learn about Nirvana’s
-
I THINK it was a MOC green Argi rockin beat pony...
-
I'm not sure. I did get a lot with an Italian Blossom in it, and I remember thinking that was a nice surprise. But I may have been actively buying Argies at the point. I did a large order with a friend of mine from a seller who was selling lots of Argentina ponies MOC, so I got a pile of those in all at once.
I do remember my first Nirvana outfit. It was the Greek tennis outfit. That started something very bad for my wallet!
-
I think mine was Argentinian Novia (Bride Pony). She's still one of my favourites!
@goddessofpeep, I love Nirvana outfits :lovey:. I have the Greek raincoat set and I love it.
-
My memory of my childhoodponies is not so good, but i believe i had a takara fakie back then and probably a few italians and i did not know about it. ;)
The first nirvana after starting collecting might be dutch baby scoolbag or spanish steamer. ^^
-
Spanish Hopscotch and I didn't realise she was special until I started collecting! I've had mine since I was about 4yrs old, she'd have been second hand then too.
-
My first Nirvana was Alternate Birthflower September/Morning Glory. She'll always be special for that reason
-
My first(and only) is my Italian Heart Throb.
-
Italian Sparkler (Ippolito), and I love her! This is so funny because I didn't think i could get it!
Here she is! (https://data.mlpmerch.com/g1-nirvana/details/g1nitunip/)

Hubby was down in Florida on vacation with his mom (this was 10 years ago, when I worked a job that had no vacation time thus why I wasn't there) he stopped at the world's biggest flea market. You can imagine the conversation of me saying grab anything that doesn't say Hong Kong or China on the feet... Then him sending me pics on a cell phone with a 1"x1" screen. He came home with Italy Blossom!

Complete with her feminine product string sticking out... har har
-
Either Italian Tickle or Italian Trickles, not sure which one came first but I deffo had both before any Dutch, German or others...
Both are actual Italians in my herd too: Trickles Trillo is my Italian teacher & Tickle Barnaba is mother to Cappuccino, who owns a Custom Caffe. Their surnames are their names in Italy.
-
My first was Dutch Baby Schoolbag, she's a very pretty green.
-
I think that would be my childhood pony France Bubbles :inlove:
-
Are all Italian ponies considered nirvana, even if they're not rare at all? The first ponies that were available here in Switzerland were all Italians, except Majesty. My first one was Italian Peachy, but she's very common, so I'm not sure if she counts. The next ones would be Italian Applejack (curly hair) and Bow Tie, but I don't think they're rare either.
The first two that come to mind that I think are considered somewhat rare are Nightlight (small symbols) and Skydancer (Earth Pony and different pose than normal Skydancer), I've had both since they were released. They're both exceptions to the predominantly Italian ponies here, as they're both HK.
-
My first My Little Pony was a nirvana: Italy Minty.
I still have her, lots of happy memories :)
-
My first and only so far is Italian Applejack. She sits at my desk and watches me work!
-
It is impossibly for me to say what was my first nirvana pony when I was a kid... I went to a lot of flea markets as a kid with mom, and found some nirvana ponies then... Probably could be Italian Bubbels or maybe Italian airbrushed Butterschotch.
When I properly started collecting when I was older, the first nirvana that I still at least have is the Brazilian Baby Gusty. I just love her, and don't think will be giving her up. She even has her accessories and the original packaging. ^^
