So far both online exclusives have come with special clothing that was either attached or you were required to purchase with the pony. Since Muffin isnt shown with anything like that, I'm certain that she will be a general release.

Me neither - when I'm paying for the novelty of choosing and stuffing your own toy, I expect to actually be able to do that. And there's no way to get out of the cost of delivery added on top unless they're running a promotion.

As much as I love the BAB ponies, I stopped collecting them after the Mane 6 (and Spike, and the CMC), since they're pricey and take up SO much room. (I'll happily adopt any that I find in thrift stores, but I haven't found any yet.) I had to pass on Zecora and Shining Armor because shipping to Canada is brutally expensive. But this one...she's one of my army ponies and I MUST HAVE HER! She can live on my bed. ^.^

Honestly, since we hadn't heard anything at all about who was next.... And there's that rumor that BAB will be getting Care Bears in..... I thought that they were done with MLP. I am thrilled to be proven wrong! I do hope she gets her mailbag.
I never did get the Funrise Muffin in either size. Now I don't even care! This is 1000x better!!!

Shining armor, Cadance, and Luna together were the most recent released. They were released maybe 2 or three months ago? Celestia was the release before them right around Christmas. The pattern I've noticed for BaB pony releases is once in the spring, once in mid to late summer and one before Christmas. Sometimes it's only one pony, sometimes up to 3 ponies.

Eeeee, so excited! I wasn't expecting her, either. Totally a surprise. And for the picture to be the first news of her ... intriguing. Usually we find out who's next long before there's a picture.
I hope they'll also do Sunset Shimmer at some point. I prefer Sunset as a human, but I doubt there will ever be Equestria Girls plushies, so I definitely want Pony Sunset Shimmer. I still can't find the Funrise of her.

She hasn't been released yet. According to their past release pattern, we could expect a release in late summer/early fall. But they may decide to save her for Thanksgiving/Christmas.

Probably. Just like Zecora and Shining Armor, they know that there is a market for this character but not a big enough market to make a big enough run to put them in stores.
Hmm, :huh: Disappointed that she costs more but doesn't come with any kind of accessories.
And I notice that they have a limit of 4 per order. I wonder if that means that they have an even more limited number of her than the other online exclusives? Zecora and Shining armor don't have that on their listing.

Well, total they have released 17 including Spike. Spike and the CMC were the smaller versions that came already stuffed. 3 have been online exclusive.
Which means 10 characters that you could buy in store and stuff. The mane 6, 3 princesses, and Trixie. I'll also note that Rainbow Dash is no longer listed online and neither is Spike or the CMC.

Ugh. Web exclusive here, too :/ Should have expected it, given Trixie, Zecora, and Shining Armour were all web-only. Especially irritating as you can't order them unstuffed here, so not only will she cost more than the other ponies ( and why when she's only two colours!?) but they take away the whole point of Build A Bear by sending you a pre-stuffed toy :mad: Hopefully I can find a free shipping coupon or something so make her cheaper.
Also my email said Vinyl Scratch/DJ Pon-3 is coming soon, with her glasses
Does Hamleys usually get the web exclusives in? I'm going to London later in the week so I could see if I could fit that in....

Bought her :) I think my purse is quite happy she's web exclusive. There's a BAB at a nearby shopping centre i go to a lot and i do not have the willpower everytime i walked past that shop to not buy her if she was in there XD Can't wait for her to arrive now :)

I suspect any new characters will be online exclusive. I think they have reached the end of the characters who are popular enough with children to do well in the stores.

I assume that maybe BAB knew she would be more appealing to adult fans (I love Muffin but her colour scheme is definitely "duller" than the previous ponies, though she'd have appealed to child!me), and maybe buying trends say more adult fans buy online than in-store? Muffins has almost certainly been released due to popular demand so it does seem strange they're taking the "safe" route of having an online exclusive...

I think it's more a matter of adults who are buying for themselves are more willing to go online to purchase because they want that specific character. And not everyone lives near a BaBW. And some adults are self concieous about going in to a BaBW to buy for themselves.
Not to mention that while some children will want Muffins, most will choose another character first.
Think of it like this: how many BaB plushes will the average parent buy for their child? Maybe 1-3? And if the child can only choose a limited number of ponies characters, how likely is it that a given child will choose Muffins over one of the mane 6 or one of the princesses?
So there is enough of a demand for BaB to do a small run and offer it online for maximum exposure to those who really want that character. But there is not enough demand to make so many that they can stock all of their stores with her. Especially since their primary audience who come into the store, children, are more likely to choose one of the other characters available.
Quit frankly, I'm shocked that DJ won't be an online exclusive also. Maybe it's her coloring, maybe it's that she is a unicorn.

I dunno, Vinyl/DJ seems pretty popular with Hasbro (how many dolls does she have now? Three?), and she had a pretty sizeable role in the second Equestria Girls film and "Slice of Life" .. maybe they think she's more likely to be popular with kids? I dunno.
(I wonder if maybe they're playing it safe with Ditzy as well, to avoid any possible controversy over her? I dunno, just speculating.)

Well, that's interesting. This is the first time that they have designed a whole new cape for a pony. She is never shown wearing a dress in the show. Are the capes selling well enough to design a whole new one not inspired by the show?
And yet they didn't make any accessories for Muffin.

The UK website says they're already out of stock. Can anyone confirm this? Have you ordered and seen them go out of stock? Or is it a case that the page is a placeholder and they will be back in stock?
If they've really sold out that fast maybe pointing it out to BaB Aus might get their butts in gear. :P

Alas, Hamleys didn't have her :( They haven't had her in at all yet. I'll have to order one and pray I don't get one with bent wings and a wonky(...wonkier) face once she comes back into stock (apparently it's been going out of stock/in stock all day so not sure if accurate or a website glitch, their UK website is not exactly a work of genius as a bunch of links have been dead/route you to the US website for months and months without getting fixed...)

The UK site said this the day it launched, I think they may of never been 'in stock' at all, just a place holder :( Everywhere should her her really, doesn't make sense.

Unfortunately they apparently won't do that here :( I bought my Trixie in Canada unstuffed and when I took her to be stuffed at a store here in England the employee told me she was surprised I had been allowed to buy her that way because they're absolutely not allowed to do it here, apparently due to a concern over kids getting their fingers tangled in the strings?
Pretty sure shipping is flat-rate for us too :pout:
Alas, I have to pay for a car this weekend so it looks like I might have to wait a bit longer unless I make her my birthday present to me....

YAY! Mine arrived today, and she's perfect! Whoever stuffed her...I love this person so much. Muffins came just as I asked for, with her neck and leg "joints" stuffed extra firmly so she doesn't flop about. Usually ordering these online is kind of a...eh...I don't particularly like it since you can't pick which one you want (ya know, you can't pick one specifically without bent wings or messy hair or whatever). But I managed to get a pretty-much-perfect one. Her tail was a little ratty, but one short brushing and it's nice and silky now. And her wings are nice and straight, with no creases or bends. Anyway, I absolutely adore her! I still think Luna's my favorite BAB plush, but Muffins is a close second. I think I'm set plushie wise...at least until (if) BAB ever decides to make a Sunset Shimmer plush...

Is Muffins still for sale in the UK? I noticed some posts on Facebook that the UK site is emailing customers that will get Twilight Sparkle instead of Muffins. I hope that doesn't happen to anyone on the Arena that ordered her.

Ordered mine on the 13th as my birthday present to me :lol: She's lovely! I asked in the instructions to please get one without bent wings or a wonky face and she's perfect! Gutted, though, that two days after she was dispatched they announced the 2 for £26...though it seems she sold out before DJ appeared on the UK site (alas, can't find anyone who wants to share that deal with me....not that I have room for DJ but she has such a sweet face <3).
I've not heard of those emails, but Dizzy has been sold out on the UK website, as in, no option to add her to the cart at all (I was getting errors when I bought mine that I would click "add to cart" and it would load for a while then give an "error-out of stock" message).

Yeah, I thought $30 USD was a bit much for her whenever she first popped up on the site. Especially since she doesn't have any accessories unique to her. I was glad when the 2 for $35 sale came around.

Try Googling "Muffins Build a Bear" it should give you the link for her page and you can order her. I had tried the website and it wouldn't bring her up but googling her link did. It says she's in Limited Availability so good luck! :)

That's not surprising. Some people are bashing BaB for not anticipating her popularity, and I think that's a little unfair. They probably had as many of these made as they possibly could.

That is very unfair considering how long Zecora and Shining Armor have been around with out selling out.
If she was that popular, I'm sure she will be back. It just might not be right away

I hope they release more for those that weren't able to get her, but it sounds like they aren't planning to. I wonder how many Muffins BAB ponies they had made since she sold out so fast?

It is kind of odd considering how long they have had ponies like Zecora and Trixie. But maybe that is the answer. Maybe they feel that they over ordered on previous "fan favorites" and are now stuck with a lot of over stock.
Has anyone else noticed that Zecora's price has gone down to $27 from $35? And not as a sale, they just dropped her price. They are trying to get rid of her.

Aww thats bad to hear that they already wont produce any more Muffin Ponies! I try to understand why... I mean, the fans want her, they will PAY for her, why not bringing at least some more :/
I got mine a little while ago in a trade (thanks again to Itcheeee <3 <3) and shes still unstuffed. Im patiently waiting for November, when we can (hopefully) visit BaB to get her stuffed <3 For now shes hanging out (literally lol) with Zecora on the left and Pinkie Pie to the right with her head between their heads lol. Looks funny since you can only see her face poking out and nothing else :P Ghost Muffin :P

I went and got :muffin: this morning. My brother agreed to buy her as my x-mas present, so she's all wrapped up now. I can't wait to open her at Christmas! :biggrin:
Our BaB store had plenty of her and DJ, and even a lone Shining Armour. I half wish I'd gotten a few more when they were available, like Fluttershy, but Pinkie and Bubbles will suit me fine. ^.^

I will be going to get My Muffin pony stuffed on wednesday!! Finally :D :D :D Cant stand her hanging around like she does atm lol.
Btw, I am thinking of buying a sweater for her to make her look more like Rose Tyler (Doctor Who), does anybody tried sweaters on BaB ponies yet? Do they fit?

Awww man. I really hope Facebook is wrong. I've certainly had trouble before getting incorrect information from the people who handle their Facebook page. Surely they'll reconsider, since they've now seen that Muffins is more popular than some of their other "fan favorite" Ponies. I also hope there's still a chance she'll come back and be in stores everywhere, instead of just online for a lot of people.
That's interesting about Zecora's price dropping. Maybe I'll have to more strongly consider getting her. I think the higher price turned a lot of people off.

So, I ordered two ponies, one of which was Muffins, right before she went out of stock. When I recieved my package in the mail this past week, I had one pony but was missing Muffins. I called customer service and they did find my Muffins at the warehouse. However, In The course of speaking to the representative she did say that Muffins had been discontinued. I didn't think to ask her why at the time and there is a good chance that she wouldn't have known anyway.

Muffins and DJ still cost an arm and a leg even with the 2 for $35 sale because the exchange rate SUCKS right now, but they were worth it! I took them to BAB to get stuffed, and none of the staff had actually seen Muffins in person. The two girls I was talking to argued over who would get to stuff her. :lol:

Dont complain about the price, they are 35€ here in Germany (each, lol, as we never have 2 for 1)... thats $40 in the US and $51 in Canada for each plushie :P

Yeah is sad, but luckily a cousin has helped me get some of them from the US but no clothes only for Cadence and Luna but I can't pick the face of the ponies

It's interesting to know Rainbow Dash is retired. I found her at a flea market with her cape a few months ago. She's in great shape except her hair. It's a mess. I haven't gotten around to her spa treatment yet. Any tips on what I can do to make her hair lovely again?

I've only had bad experiences with their main Facebook page.... The people running it almost always give me the wrong information when I ask, so I don't imagine you'd have much better luck. But I love the idea of campaigning to get Muffins back in stock, just like Toothless! :)

Muffins is in stock at Downtown Disney, which is at Disneyland!! Just FYI! :P So is Luna, I think? I didn't look for her specifically, but I definitely saw Muffins! And Trixie! They seem to have a lot of the "sold out" ponies. You could even get Zecora and Shining Armor there, who are online exclusives!

Yessss, I totally just saw Zecora and Shining Armor in-store too! I didn't have enough money to get either of them right then (and I already had my heart set on the Halloween bat plushie ... seriously, I never thought I'd want a bat plushie, but that one is just the most adorable thing), but I definitely hope I'll have the chance to get both of them now!

I've heard from multiple sources (and I hope it isn't true!) but that apparently the ponies are all gonna be phased out, so Muffin might be the last one! :cry: :cry: :cry: HOWEVER, if we were to complain and send in fanmail on the build a bear website, we may be able to convince them to keep the ponies around!
ANYWAYS, if they are gonna keep making them, I'm hoping for a Sunset Shimmer! :lol:

I'm honestly 95% percent sure that that particular rumor isn't true :huh: remember that MLP is for the children and isn't just for us adult collectors/bronies. Plus what little kid doesn't love snuggling up to a pony plush? XD

I got it, from somebody who works at BaB, that there will almost certainly not be any more ponies :| When I was in Leicester for Ponycon, I thought I'd be nice and go in to warn the staff that there might be a large number of pony fans coming in over the weekend.
They didn't have a huge amount of pony stuff on display so I said they might want to get it all from their stockroom and put it out just in case. One of them said they actually didn't have anyhting else out back, and probably wouldn';t get any more cos the intention was to not make any more ponies. :(

I visited the Build-a-Bear Store in Oberhausen (Germany) three days ago and they had only one bin with Mixed Pony plush. They only got Zecora, Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie and one Rainbow Dash and DJ Pony. Last year they had tons more. :( (I picked up Zecora btw ^^)

They're restocking in the US for sure in early 2016 due to demand, but I have yet to see anything about restocking for the international stores. :(

I don't see why they'd discontinue the ponies. I saw several kids getting the new ponies the day they came out just this year, demand can't have gone down that much.

That and with the movie coming out in 2017, they'll either reissue them or still be making them....that's more money right there.

Mine too. My niece wanted Cadance and Shining Armor for her Christmas present, and Princess Luna for her birthday present (that's today), and of course when I went to buy them the princesses were out of stock so I had to resort to ebay. Cadance wasn't so bad but Luna... Ouch.
