I am thankful for this mommy and baby. BBE heartthrob was my bully in my heard and I as i became *shudder* an adult, I realized she was a bully because she had no mommy. I found her mommy at a rummage sale. The seller wanted to sell her for $50!!! Haha then the seller met me! I was knit picking flaws to the point I took home her and 6 other G1 ponies for $20...hehe. I think my flaw point out was annoying enough he just wanted me to leave. Hahaha. I cleaned mommy up and saw my BBE heartthrob blossom into a sweatheart... hehe. They deserved mommy and baby pony outfit, but not just any outfit...their own. So I made them Santa coats and hats...love this season.

Tell me who you are thankful for. Any generation or different toy is welcome:)

In the UK we don't have Thanksgiving, it's rather the month to burn effigies and light fireworks, but I guess that's not quite the right motif for a pony discussion xD.

I am thankful for a lot of ponies in my collection and the trades and people I've met over the years because of that.

I'm thankful that as a child I had parents who bought me ponies and grandparents who did too, and family who support me still having ponies even now. And a sister to collect with even though we have our own lives too.

I'm thankful for the ponies I've received in special circumstances, from the baby shady I was given for my sixteenth birthday to retro Snuzzle earlier this year xD.

As a kid I was always thankful I was born in the right time period to have MLP growing up ;). I'm thankful too that I was around at the right time to buy from carboot sales when G1 were cheap because I am not rich and could not afford to have a lot of the rare ponies now if not for being able to pick them up back then.

So I guess that's a lot of stuff...

I'm most thankful for the ponies that came from family members who have since passed away.  Every time I look at those ponies I think of my loved ones and can picture/replay the day in my head of when I got them.  Suddenly I'm back with them for a few minutes.

I’m thankful for the ponies that remind me of my childhood collection. And I’m so thankful for all the fun and happiness my collection has given me.

I don't have one single pony that I am more grateful then over another one! I am just grateful for them period! :)

When I look at the ponies they bring back many great memories of my childhood! I remember being so proud of them when playing at school!

I remember running back to the toy isles to see what ponies they have! Wishing that I could get them all! I did not get many but the ones that I got I loved them and took very good care of them all! I still have everyone of them also! :)

Our Thanksgiving was last month here in Canada, but I'm thankful for the Gusty my friend gave me, as my old childhood ponies are no longer with me.

She might not be highly sought after or rare, but Gusty was my first childhood pony and the one that has the most sentimental value to me, and the fact that my friend was willing to gift her old one to me makes me thankful not just for the pony, but for my lovely friends. In fact, said friend is practically where most of my pony supply comes from, heheh.

Such heartwarming posts :)

I'm very grateful that my girlfriend kept all her childhood ponies, and that she decided to share them with me! I'm also grateful for all the ponies that were gifts from friends/family: not just the G1s that people tracked down on eBay for my birthday or Christmas, but also the G3s and G4s that came from charity shops accompanied by a remark of, "I saw this, and I thought you'd like it."

Also, not to be all about the money, but I'm happy every time I manage to find a pony that I never thought I'd be able to afford for a decent price :). I never thought I'd have any Greek ponies and now I have two! I never thought I'd have three Mountain Boys! I never expected to find a Bedtime Newborn in a charity shop for 50p! I definitely never expected to get Lullaby Nursery for free! That sort of thing always makes me really happy, and leads to ruminations along the lines of "isn't it lucky that I was in town that day and decided to look in that shop....the stars must have been aligned :)"

I love these stories. I agree, I never thought I would ever own a non USA pony, and thanks to an amazing friend, I do. She has a special spot on the shelf.

I'm thankful for ponies but not for Thanksgiving, the lamest holiday of the year.  :P  No presents, no costumes, and one person is stuck doing the majority of the cooking . . . no thanks, lol.

I'm thankful for the ponies that I received as gifts or in swaps and trades. They have a special place in my heart because I associate them with friends and family members.

I'm thankful for the handful of childhood ponies I still have/escaped being sent to Goodwill.

I'm thankful for the 5-6 childhood collections I've been able to pickup from Craiglist and garage sales in the past 2 years since I've started collecting seriously again. Especially when I got to meet and talk with the the original owner.

I'm thankful each time I find a pony in the wild, it's my favorite way to collect and means more to me than hitting bid on eBay or claiming on a sale post. The sheer amount of variables that have to align so I can find a 30+ year old toy at the exact moment I happen to be there rather than the dozens of other collectors around... Yes so thankful each time

I love this thread share the happiness. It's like my family's Thanksgiving. We all have our jobs. I bring and bake pies. My bro th her the meat. Sister veggies, and my mom like to make dinner rolls. Fun to bring all families to 1 table:) just like bringing ponies to one forum:)

I am thankful for the person on another forum form the land down under, who helped me find the last mermaid pony of the trio I needed.  I did a trade with them, and also got a post card. I am also thankful for the few people in my life who keep an eye out for me as well.

I'm just Thankfull for Ponies in the whole!
I'm turned 40 this year, and I can still get Ponies in the Shops! There are not so many toylines that made it trough 40 years, on Lego and Playmobile and a couple of that kind of toys....
That alone makes My Little Pony for me a Magical thing!!!

Thankful that as others have said, I can still buy ponies in the store. Kid me figured the line would have been long dead. And I'm so happy kid me was wrong. As for a pony, G1 Moondancer. She's tailless but I found her at a tiny local sci-fi con. She was in a bin of $1 toys, that was an awesome day for me. Had fun at the con and got news later that day. Of being able to cross a major thing off my bucket list, so she has a place of pride on my nightstand. As a memento and she's still tailless, it adds to her charm.
