For those of you who remember my accessory website, greatponies.com, it has been down for about a year now due to complications from my divorce. To make a long story short, after my ex and I separated, he was supposed to continue paying certain bills - including the phone/internet. I didn't find out that he had stopped paying everything until my e-mail and website went down due to nonpayment. My ex controlled the account that hosted my website, and he lost the sign-in information, which I needed to transfer my website from the host he was using to my own. By the time he found the sign-in information, my website was past the renewal date. It will cost about $200 for me to get my website name back, and there is no guarantee that any of my website information will still be online. Since I don't have copies of anything from my website (the software I used for it is so old, I can't run it on my current computer), it doesn't seem worthwhile to pay a bunch of money to keep the same name if my whole website is lost anyway. So, I am going to have to get a new website domain and totally rebuild my website.
I do still have my photos and all my files about accessories, so I should be able to recreate the website. However, I thought I would ask - if anyone downloaded any information about my website and how it was set up, I'd appreciate it if you could send it to me (screen shots, copies of my checklists, etc.). Also, if anyone knows any simple, free software that I could use to rebuild my website I'd appreciate information about it. I am not at all techy, and I don't have the time or inclination to learn how to to use complicated computer software.
This isn't something I'm going to be able to do very quickly because I'm working three jobs and am pretty much swamped all the time. But I miss having my website and would like to get it going again (under a new domain name, unfortunately :( ).

I'm really sorry to hear about all that hard work being lost!
My suggestion is to try The Wayback Machine and see what you can salvage from there:

I wondered what had happened to your website -_-
Love pkw xxxx

Aww that sucks :(
Best of luck in recreating your website, or creating as it will be new...you know what I mean! I hope you find the info you're looking for. Sadly I don't have anything saved anymore. Have you thought of a new name yet?

Oh how awfull!
I hope the web-archive will help you create new site.
Its alot of work but I am sure it will be worth it in the end :)

I am glad you're planning to be bring the site back. I believe the wayback machine does have most pages, just missing the majority of the photos. I think Chrissytree has screenshots of most but I don't remember where she shared them.

The Wayback Machine looks awesome. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
I don't know what name I'll end up using. It just depends on what is available still. :(

I found some pages I saved back in 2005 ish - I'll PM you so I can send them to you :) I posted them on a Facebook group.
I use Weebly for easy drag and drop website building as I have no idea what to do with html or anything.

Oh how sad to read that all that precious info is lost - I hope you find what you need from the archived web tool and that it makes re-building your new site easier! :ohyeah:

I relied on your website so much, we have a ton of knowledge. I'm more than happy to help with additional photos. Many of us accessory lovers are overjoyed to hear you wish to bring it back!
I think we all know greatponies, so I vote to keep it the same.

Thank you so much for starting a new project! I've loved your website so much, ever since it was down I've not focused on accessories much anymore.
-
BTW, even though "greatponies.com" has been snapped up by someone else, you may be able to secure "greatponies.net". :)
-
I'm so sorry you had to deal with all that. I used to use your website too, it really was wonderful! I hope you are able to rebuild your page again
