Hello,
Now everyone knows certain ponies are rarer then others.
For example, I see way more peachy's on ebay then I see mimics.
Even tho its easier* to get hold of some ponies, making them more common*. What common* ponies took you forever to get, or are there any you still haven't added to your herd, despite having them on your wishlist/meaning to?
For me, I don't own bluebelle,snuzzle,minty,applejack,cotton candy, cherries jubilee and a whole bunch more.
So what do you think? Plans on getting these? Are of these ponies rare in your area?
I would love to know.

I still don't have Peachy! For someone who grew their collection on lots of eBay lots, I'm surprised I haven't gotten one yet. I don't know if I'll actually buy one separately, or just wait to see if she comes in a lot.
Also, I don't think I have a G3 Pinkie Pie in a non-core7 pose. I have only one.

I don't have a Firefly yet, despite her being relatively common to find in the wild (at least, where I used to live). I could have bought her at the recent pony meet I went to because there were a ton of cheap ones, but she means a lot to me as one of my childhood ponies that I found at a garage sale so I'd rather find her myself in the wild, if that makes any sense at all >u<;
I do still need to get Peachy, Blossom, Butterscotch, Bluebell, and Minty too, but I'm sure I'll find some of the more common ones I'm missing once I start going to flea markets and such ^u^

I don't have an original Peachy! I did finally end up with one when I bought the repro Show Stable, but... to be perfectly honest... I got it more for the new Twinkles than Peachy ^^;
Never got round to buying a G1 Minty, either! Or G3 Minty - I have a couple of Ponyville Mintys (Minties?) but no brushables. Weird since I love Minty.

It took forever for me to find a Glory! About 2 years into collecting I found one at goodwill.
I still don't have Bowtie, Sunbeam, Bluebell, or Minty.

G1 Starshine! Almost every Starshine I've come across has a few problems, such as dulled white colouring, glitter loss or slight peppering. But the one major flaw she almost always seems to have is cancer... and it's always embedded within her beautiful glitter symbols! Finding a flawless Starshine, who is sparkling white with no cancer (that hasn't been re-haired) seems impossible to me :cry:

Reading this makes me giggle. I keep getting/finding Peachy everywhere. Currently have 5 of her
It took me ages to get some decent looking Apple Jacks (G1). But that also might be because I'm very picky

It also took me til 2018 to get Baby Ember and Baby Sundance, and I know they're fairly common.

I've only found ponies in the wild once in my over 10 years living here. So 8m sure I'm missing a lot. Plus it's be a few years since I've bought a pony.

Ugh, so many! For starters, I don't have a nice, regular Peachy. Just manky Italians. Other than her I am still missing the original six (I only have Cotton Candy), Glory, Twilight, Sunbeam, Moonstone, Windy, Sunlight, Majesty (though I doubt she is that common, especially in good shape), Applejack in Sundance's pose... Firefly is another one, but I don't like her, so that's okay. XD

Quite a few, actually. I didn't have a firefly for ages until my girlfriend bought me one - it was only later that I realised the reason I didn't have one was because they weren't sold in the UK!
I still don't have a posey, most of the CP ponies... There's so many commons I have yet to pad out my collection with.

For me I guess it would be ones that my sister has that I am not interested in getting, since we always collected together and in a sense still do.
Off the top of my head I know I don't have either bride pony. I don't actually have an (original, I have a retro) Tickle either. Or a Bubbles I don't think. I know I don't have Barnacle but I guess he doesn't count as common ;) (Tickle wasn't sold here though originally so I guess she isn't common either)
I don't think I have a BBE baby Cuddles, I certainly don't have a BBE baby Lickety Split. I don't believe I have a BBE Baby heart throb and Baby Lickety I have but I'm not keeping her. I don't have Brilliant Blossoms the MGR, although I did used to have her MIB once upon a time.
There are others but those spring to mind.

Until the 35th anniversary ponies/retro G1 ponies came out I didn't have Minty, Snuzzle, Minty, Blueblue Blossom, Butterscotch or Peachy.

It took me almost 30 years of collecting to get a Peachy. Everyone complained about how common she was, so I never sought her out and figured I would stumble across one in the wild sooner or later.... It took a lot more time than I was expecting! XD
It took me at least a couple decades to find concave-feet Cotton Candy in good shape. And I still don't have a Moondancer that isn't basically bait.

For me, Lickety-Split and Hearthrob. They're pretty common but I only saw Lickety-Split once before in eBay Australia and never Hearthrob. 1 MOC Sweet Stuff, no loose ones and no Gingerbeads. Also never seen a NBBE Baby Tiddly Winks (Although she may be considered uncommon) but never got a Sparkle pony or a pocket pony (most common pony found on AUS eBay) I don't have any interest in them.

I hear about how common Pony Bride is (I know someone in a Discord server who recently ended up with a seventh one), yet I somehow don't have her yet. There's also a fair amount of more common early G1s I don't have yet.

I’ve got too many Peaches (one is re haired and ready to be sold even though she’s been for sale for a long time).
The one TE pony that was my grail pony took me a long time to get but I have Tic Tac Toe now.
But ones that I do want and still haven’t found for the right money are Daddy Apple Delight, Daddy Bright Bouquet, and Daddy Sweet Celebrations who’s my grail Daddy Pony.

I have a Peachy army, too, but no regular Minty (am actually actively looking for her with a Wanted thread here on the Arena!). I've also yet to see Medley and Firefly (with glitter symbols).

I have them, but any unicorn or pegasus from y2-3 counts for me here at least when I was searching in the wild. Of the combined members of both sets, I have found one tailless Glory here and one tailless Moondancer, and they're clearly escapees from a long way away. I've never found Medley, Twilight, etc. I did find Italian Surprise and Italian Heart Throb but never the regular ones. Never a Powder. Never a Skyflier. Never a Firefly either.
I do have them but only because they were super priorities for me in my first international trade and so we filled those gaps (and the 2nd set rainbows) then. But technically speaking all the talk about them being common...? Not in my area.
Regular eyed Baby Tiddly Winks I would call super common, so she definitely counts.

Before I knew about UK releases I was very puzzled that I couldn't seem to find ponies such as Moondancer, Glory, Firefly and Heartthrob. I eventually had to buy them from abroad (Italy or the US usually). We have found two unicorn Twilights in the wild though.
G1 Minty has been really difficult to find! I found a Mexican one online way before I ever found an ordinary one. Then I found flat foot Minty here in the UK. But concave foot Minty continued to elude me until she came in a bundle from America.

I have only ever once found a CF Minty here also. I am still highly suspicious about whether she was sold here...I've not yet found a paper trail to prove either way, since we definitely had the FF...

I’ve never been able to find a decent Sundance! Also, Bowtie took me forever to find without cancer. Then of course there are some common ones that just don’t appeal to me, like Cherries Jubilee, Tootsie and some others.

There are lots of common ponies left on my wishlist, but the one that I'm itching to check off the most is Galaxy! I haven't found a nice one yet without regrind or haircuts or serious rubs.

This, of course, is relative. In my country didn't make the first sets of ponies until 1984+ year and skipped half or most of the sets. So these ponies aren't common for me. However, I get tired of seeing piggies and Spanish TEs and I rarely can find a Spanish Starflower and those are sold way more than the supposedly commons. Ironic :rolleyes:
But the commons that usually pops and I don't have yet are: (again) Starflower, Confetti, Parasol, Peachy, and Moonstone. And international ones: all the CPs and first set of pegasus & unicorns.

Maybe get a Chinese one? They have more vivid colours and generally nicer hair than some of the HK ones do :)

There's quite a few common ponies I don't have yet! While my collection is bigger than I tend to think (lol), it's still more on the small side. But a common one it took me a surprising amount of time to get is Sundance. I actually got Megan first, lol.

For me, it's the Earth ponies I remember from when I was a kid and thought were kind of common, maybe because a good chunk of my cousins/friends also had them. Now I'd love to have them in my herd: Lickety Split, Surprise, Bowtie, Blossom, Sun Light. Thanks to Basic Fun I can snag a few of those and the others I'm on the hunt for. It's interesting because now I want them as before it was a case of "if I get them".

Lemon Drop: I have only just received her. And then she didn't have a tail. BUT she also didn't have head/body mismatch which seems to be pretty common for her and drives me nuts.
I still don't have Snuzzle, but I will some day.
I also literally just 2 days ago received Butterscotch and then it was the Italian version. She is too gorgeous.

For a long time I didn't want Cotton Candy, she was 'too pink' and 'too obvious'. Then of course one day I saw a dark pink one who looked fabulous to me and I had to get her - glad I waited for that particular pony.

I am also still not 100% convinced we had CF Minty in the UK. I am still looking for proof we did but none so far. If that's the case and we only had the FF back in 1983, it's not surprising that you found her harder to get. That's a long time ago when MLP wasn't really in full flow here...

I don't have Lemon Drop, despite really liking yellow and purple and that pony being kind of ubiquitous. I will get her someday, it's one of those things where I keep meaning to do it, but constantly have my head turned by other things. Peachy isn't in my herd either, although she was one of my childhood ponies. :P

I have something to add since we're talking about Minty-I've never encountered a CF Butterscotch? Plenty of FFs in my day, and my current collection Butterscotch is a FF, but never a CF one...and it's the reverse for Cotton Candy.
My set of six is evenly split, so I have FF Minty, Butterscotch, and Bluebelle and CF Cotton Candy, Blossom, and Snuzzle.

Even though G3 is my favorite and I collected them a lot when they were out....
I never have owned a Pinkie Pie.
I just didn't really like her during G3's run and always assumed I'd get one eventually, but never made it a priority, and I never ended up getting her. Now I hope to add her to my collection!

I think this has a lot to do with it.
Another reason it takes me longer to get some common ponies is that I'm more likely to find them locally in thrift shops so I don't shop for them online and pay higher prices plus shipping. With my luck I'd find them the following week for $2 at the thrift store. Which has happened to me several times. >_<

It took me around five years to get Applejack. She was one of the four ponies I wanted but never got as a child so I was really keen on getting her, but she took forever finding herself home to me. I have yet to find regular Sunlight, Bluebelle, Butterscotch and Minty as well. So far I only have the anniversary ones.

Skyflier. I've searched and searched, but I just can't find her anywhere. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since she wasn't sold in the UK, but I found most of the other y2 and y3 earth/unicorn/pegasus ponies fairly easily. Sunlight, surprise and twilight all took a while, but I have all of them now, except skyflier, (and the second set of rainbow ponies apart from confetti) and it's driving me crazy!

One I don't have would be Surprise, who I'd like to get this year since I have baby Surprise. One that took a while would be Sparkleworks. In 15 years of being a fan I never got her, but I've ended up with 2 in the past couple months!

I'm very surprised I don't have a Peachy yet. Knowing how common she is, I find it odd that I haven't found her during one of my many flea market trips. Sure, I could just buy her on eBay but I know she'll pop up locally someday.

actually I think the collector ponies were the ones that took awhile to get 4 or 6 of them I dont remember. I do remember feeling excited when buying them but it took like forever to get them and knocked the wind out my sails. I was a newbie buyer on ebay at the time so that is how I lived and learned.

G1 Minty, both versions. I keep passing on them because I think they're overpriced or covered in pindot.

I never acquire ponies just to have them, it's always someone I WANT.
Uh, except the collector pose ponies I guess. I like Butterscotch, Minty, and Snuzzle, but they're not must-haves for me. So I never had the urge to buy one despite them being like, The Very First My Little Ponies. But when the 35th anniversaries came out, I NEEDED to get these because woah, REPROS! I didn't think the Basic Fun ponies would've have lasted this long so I acted as soon as possible. :P
