Title: Problem with G1 Majesty
Post by: lonewolf on June 15, 2019, 07:34:08 PM
Took a look at mine for the first time in ages, and she looks a little different than when I bought her several years ago:

What are the dark spots, and why did the head discolor so much? and what would be the way to fix it? Guess I need to go through my others and see if any have the same problems.

The dark spots are age spots, which is just the plastic deteriorating over time. It's more or less inevitable and how fast it happens depends largely on the environment of where you live and how the storage conditions are. They cannot be removed. As for her head, it's just very common for Majesty to have a head/body mismatch. It feels like every Majesty has it to an extent... it's likely just a matter of different plastic batches and since they're different pieces of plastic, one just ages faster than the other.

Mine are sitting on shelves high up on the wall in a room that gets no direct sunlight. It get's pretty warm during the summer.

It's not every Majesty, but it's not uncommon for that to happen :( It sucks especially if she was in nice shape to begin with. The quality of a lot of Majestys - and early playset ponies in general, like Sprinkles, Lemon Drop etc - isn't wholly brilliant anyway, so that's probably part of it :(

You can always try a h202 dip to see if she lightens up. I fear her age spots if she would be left in the sun may cause her to burn.
