AWESOME pindot removal - PLEASE let us know your secret to such a clean result - do you use a special soap or is it really just lots of patience and rub, rub, rub?

Aw man I really appreciate all the kind words guys!
For everyone asking on the pindot; it's mostly just elbow grease. I wash the ponies with really hot water (as hot as I can stand to work with) which softens the vinyl* , then just scrub scrub scrub, I usually use my fingernails to help scrape the mold out. If you don't have strong fingernails, a thin piece of plastic like a credit card, palate knife, or maybe even a piece of plastic packaging might work. I also use just a basic detergent to help clean and disinfect.
*(don't worry, if you're not familiar with this, they'll firm back up when cool.)
These restorations look awesome!
My Gusty has pindot and I need to find the time and patience to clean her....
Has anyone tried boiled milk which is said to work on mildew?

I've got photos spread all over the place thanks to Photobucket
But I think this is the majority, still missing some.

(my dA is seriously out dated and sort of abandoned, btw)
Thank you GlitterBall. =)
And now, i just finished her wings. How do they look ? Personally, I love them. I wonder if anyone would be interested to commission a pair of wings to me. But I feel bad for trying to capitalize on this absolutely free tutorial http://www.linniekin.net/mlp/restore/flutter/index.htm so I'll pass my idea.'

Shy Violet, baby Quackers looks amazing! :lovey:
The sun-fading also really worked for your other ponies too - so effective! I love the little eye-patch you made to protect the eye paint!
So-softs are always tricky, though, I admire anyone who wants to clean those!
Whizzer and Itialian Moonstone, before and after their bath. =)
Eldarwen, they look stunning! Was that restoration all achieved by sunfading?

I use sunfading as much as possible. I live in the north, so sunfading is not an option during the winter (I can't even remember the last time I saw sun! :(). So I use acne creams on ponies that will stay in my own collection. Baby Moondancer for example, she was whitened with acne cream almost 9 years ago. :) Still as beautiful as in the picture!
I still don't see the harm when you already have a baity pony you are not going to sell. Nothing to lose. Not going to get any worse than it already is.But people can still read this thread, see that acne cream is this magical cure, and then go and do it without knowing the risks. I think a lot of people want to know what a restoration method can do and if you don't disclose that it can discolor ponies worse than what you started with, they might try it. They should know what could happen before going full on acne cream. People aren't saying its bad to do it to your collection if you know the risks: they are saying it's bad to tell people it's fine when it can discolor their pony and probably will discolor their pony. When you say "oh, it's fine! The pony is already baity and you won't sell it afterwards" you aren't disclosing the risks involved. We have to say those risks.
