Would he happen to wear green? ;)
-
Maybe!
-
Could it be one of these guys?

-
Nope! It is pony related.
-
Looks like the Wizard/gnome from the G1 movie who gives Paradise Estate to the ponies, in my opinion. ;)
-
Is it...mr moochick? Or however you spell his name?
-
Yes, he wears green  Yes, he gave us Paradise Estates  and yessss... Its the Moochik!!! :frolic:
Here he is with hands and a staff.

I had seen a toy peacock with Safari or Schleich-like animal figures in a store awhile back, so I wanted to have him holding a peacock, but I went to four stores today and nobody has it anymore. My options are to order it online, or just have him holding the Rainbow of Light.
Wish me luck on the clothes, hat and face. I have not sculpted in MANY years (I'm old now). I've never made clothes. I'm not good at humans. I'm worried I will screw up his face. I'm worried about his hat.
I will say, I've always hated drawing hands on paper, and I'm really glad how these sculpted hands turned out.
-
I quite like what you have so far. Sculpting in any 3d medium is difficult to get right, especially a 2d character. But your work so far shows great promise. Just take your time, and I’m sure you’ll be just fine!
-
You need to quit being so talented my dude. I'm getting jealous. ;)
-
Looks good so far, lol
-
Ooh Moochik, that's amazing! Looking great so far, the hands in particular!
-
Coat is done. Now to attempt beard, face and hat.

Later, here is face and hat. Lips are ugly and look chapped. Cheeks aren't full enough and I needed more beard around cheeks and pushing under hat, but decided this is enough for a first try. The eyes and eyebrows are awful. Redid those twice and still not happy. One nostril got squished.

So I'll bake and hopefully with paint he won't look so bad.
-
I think he looks great!
-
I dunno. Looks on model to its animated counterpart to me! And it looks good! I didn’t even notice he had little ears on the top of his head until now. The more you know...
-
He looks awesome to me! I've always wished for a Moochick figure I could pose with my ponies!
-
FFFFF omg. You need to make resin casts of him so you can sell them!

I agree with this statement. I think we all would enjoy a little moochik, and your sculpting is beautiful.
-
Well, I'm just learning sculpey. I guess next is learning casting resin!

Same here!
That's a brilliant piece of work. It reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeozljBmJTw (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeozljBmJTw)
Also, just to say that people's faces are not symmetrical especially kooky characters like the Moochick. So the only issue I would worry about is the texture of the lips since I think if you're not happy with it then it could be something to work on. I guess it also depends how keen you are to make it show accurate or whether a little artistic license is OK.
Edit: OK so I just checked and he doesn't actually have lips int he film which I think looks a little wierd. I prefer your version. He's awesome!!

Dude, the only reason you can even see these flaws is because you've been staring at them for hours while you work. To everyone else, this looks incredible :iconclap:

I'll second this! I've wished for one for ages.
-
I will have to make a better, smaller version of him. I fished out Firefly, Bowtie and Applejack from storage (Twilight is hiding in another box somewhere) to pose with the Moochik, and I realized he is ginormous compared to them. I'm not finished painting him yet.

He looks even better painted!
-
He's so cool lookin! Well done!
Make a super mini Moochik and then create a Moochik tower.
-
I love every part of this. Sure, he is a big moochick. Just a moochick with a reduce/enlarge spell.
-
Oh wow he looks amazing!

Sorry for using caps, but... YES. DO IT.
He looks phenomenal; truth be told, I didn't even notice the flaws until you pointed them out! (And even then, that doesn't change my opinion.)
If you don't mind me asking, what brand of clay did you use?
-
It is Sculpey polymer clay.
-
aaaa he looks absolutely amazing!!!
-
Holy crap, this is AMAZING!

Well, it seems like since deviant art did its update, all my photos disappeared, but I wanted to show y'all what I'm working on next. Since my first Moochick was too big, I'm going to make another that's smaller. And if there really is interest in resin casts I could sell, I'm going to make him simpler and more compact so he would be easier to make a mold of, like this:

Here was the first one, before he was finished being painted. This guy would be hard to mold, and he's not great looking, plus he's a giant next to the ponies.

Oh I love the small moochik! It looks like it might be around spike sized.
-
I'd love this fellow!!!
-
Not a bad first try. And a resin Moochik would be awesome.
Anything you can do to fix the embeds earlier in the thread?
EDIT: Also, I'm jealous of you having Titans Return Windblade
-
I can try. Deviantart did some sort of update and all my picture posts messed up.
Edit to add: i can't find them now. Maybe I deleted them. But basically it was photos showing the armature and beginning stages of my first Moochik.
