Title: Do you forget your age?
Post by: True on December 12, 2017, 04:38:40 PM
The last few years or so, Iv seriously had trouble remembering how old I am..
I even was telling people for about a year that I was 35 because.. well I thought I was?
I don't know how I started thinking that? But I did the math and had this like crazy jaw drop moment where I realized I was only 30 the whole time!?

Well then yesterday I went to get my Flu shot, I don't have a dedicated dr. so I just go to walgreens/riteaid/cvs, whatever walk-in place is convenient, I was filling in the paperwork and it asked my age, so I put 32. I do the math again later.. I'm only 31. -_-;;

This is getting kinda ridiculous lol. I mean I chalk it up to the fact that at this age, I don't really worry about celebrating my birthday, and big to-do's are for kids anyway. But now I'm wondering if this is normal or not lol

I always assume I am older, never younger.

I feel you, I oftentimes don't remember my exact age anymore. For some reason, when trying to think of my age, I think 29 instead of 28. I guess the time for me to be 29 is coming pretty quick, anyway.

I do all the time! I live in the US and am old enough to go to bars and pubs (over age 21) but I constantly forget this and think I am not allowed 😂🤷
I look young for my age anyway and am constantly mistaken for someone younger than their 20s -which I used to hate but am growing to accept.

Yep.  I have to do the math, every time!  I’m usually within a year or two if I have to say it off the top of my head.

I do also! And if I have to go groceries shopping I HAVE to have a list! Or I will not remember it all! And I am only 33. I call it stress that causes it!

I am glad I'm not the only one lol. I even have to hesitate when someone asks for my birthdate, but to that I blame the fact that I'm more used to listing off my sons bday, than I am my own rofl.

I don't drink very often, but a few weeks ago I grabbed a drink on my way out of a grocery store, and the person asked me for my birth date. xD I just sighed and handed her my ID saying.. "This is just easier" lol

Website: Must be 18 or older
Me: Well, looks like I'll have to wait a few years
Me:...Oh, wait

I'm sure once I'm 21 I'll have something similar.

Since I got past 18, I forget my age all the time. It doesn't mean so much when you're 'grown-up' (if I count as a grown-up. In my head I'm still about 15!).

The other day I had a meeting with a solicitor and had to give my date of birth
....I confidently reeled it off....then I realised I got the day and month the wrong way round. Oops. I put it down to being in a stressful situation, but I felt like such an idiot!

People ask my age I think 12 then have to do math for my real one which currently is easy math I'm double my minds age...but that's scary I'd rather be 12 the herd of ponies in my bedroom agrees that I'm 12 lol

I have a system, so as long as I remember the decade right, I'm good. It's 2017, so I'm 28 this year. Just add one to the last number of the year. I do have to refer to that pretty frequently though! My hubby has no idea how old he is at any given time, I have to work it out and tell him! He's 34.

I've been better since I've done surveys and they're constantly asking your age.

Mine is easy to work out: born in 1980? there's a trick to it :)
You take the first number of the year, add it to the third to make the first digit then the 4th number is the second digit. So 2017: 2+1=3 and 7 = 37 :) That'll work right through until 2099... not that I'm likely to make it that long... and trying to remember your age at 119 is probably not your main concern :P
Of course that gives your age at the end of the year so before your birthday it'll be one less.

I sometimes do forget my age. I just don't think about it, I'm just living and it hasn't very much importance to me. But I quickly remember it, it just doesn't really matter. :P I just have to add "2" to the current year and I'll have my age after my birthday. Not too difficult to remember.

Not forget, but it´s not so important anymore. I feel much younger than I am.
