My understanding was this was going to be a TRU exclusive, released late Feb. Now I've seen on ebay (can I even trust that info tho) that they are sent to *ship* to stores on March 30th?!

I got Ghoulia and Lagoona at Walmart and Gill and Abbey at Justice. Is it just a coincidence that the Justice ones I have came with the bright stands and the Walmart ones I have came with the teal stands?

There is a tutorial (but I cannot for the life of me remember it, but I'll look) but I don't think it'll help you if the neck piece broke off in Clawdeen's head. You'll get the no-neck barbie look :s

And not sure if this was covered already, but Mattel gave release dates for Robecca and Rochelle on the FB page:

All these pictures of SS Lala have me chomping at the bit to have her! I admit that I kind of have a special weakness for her more than the other girls because she was my first doll and always looks so adorable. ^^; I am just hoping she does not turn out to be as hard to find as the second wave DotD girls.
And do not get me started on how badly I need Venus and Rochelle! I need them now or I shall explode, that happens to me sometimes. :P Robecca is growing on me, but I don't find myself as drawn to her as I am the other two and if it came down to her or standard Jackson he would totally win.
Since we are on the topic of stands my SS Ghoulia came with the neon green one, which I am not too fond of. So if someone wants to trade for me for her teal one I would be very happy.

I do not like to order my dolls online because I am super picky and go over every little detail about a doll before I will buy them. The few times I have purchased a doll online I have gotten lucky and the dolls I got had no flaws whatsoever...but that may be because I bought them from another collector. So I say if you are going to buy online your best bet would be to buy from other collectors or if you can snag a doll off of Amazon they are not bad on shipping costs and if you are a member shipping is free no matter how big the order.

I was PLANNING to have an extra DOTD Clawdeen and Frankie to redress in the soccer and fearleading outfits, but I never grabbed a 3-pack when they were at Walmart, and now they're gone. I kept hoping that they'd go on clearance because they didn't seem to sell that well. Oops. Lesson learned. It's a shame too because DOTD Draculaura was really cute. I just can't bring myself to buy one from a scalper on eBay. I'm not about to encourage that practice.

Has anyone here ever contacted Mattel about a broken doll? If so, did they send you a replacement doll or just a voucher for one?
I contacted them last night about my broken Skull Shores Draculaura and I have not heard back yet, but I just want to know what I should expect when I do. :)
Here in Canada I've only ever gotten the Coupon which is dumb!I would as well if i collected the dolls and not only watch the webseries

You know, I don't quite get why they switched out Gil for Draculaura in the SS cases. It would have made more sense to switch out one of the doubles instead. Especially Ghoulia, who seems to just pile up. Seriously, any time I've gone to look for dolls, if the store has SS, there are at least twice as many Ghoulias as anyone else. I've seen Gil twice and Lagoona once. And the first time I saw Gil, the girl who rang me out mentioned her surprise that I found him, as several people had been asking about him that morning. Meanwhile, there were literally ten Ghoulias on the shelf.
Totally agree with you about Ghoulia. The SS version just doesn't have the wow factor if you ask me. She's nothing compared to GB or DotD Ghoulia. I really dislike the new look she and Lagoona have in the SS and Dot sets. Ugh, I wish I was designing dolls for MH! I'd make everyone happy!

I believe Ghoulia's a pretty major fan favorite, it's just this particular version that isn't very appealing. At least for me, I don't like the short hair, the hideous green make-up, the unattractive clothing design (again, I think the green is a big part of it)... and as Tuney said, we already have a beach Ghoulia in Gloom Beach, who looks so much better.
And even if you love SS Ghoulia you'd probably agree it was just a jerk move to take Gil out of the assortment instead of, honestly anyone else, but especially her. He's the only Gil doll there is, and certainly hasn't been easy to find even while in the shipments. I've only ever seen one in person (at TRU, where they're wildly overpriced) and once in-stock online, for a short time.

I just got Spectra during the weekend, she was a b-day gift from my ex. Now I have incredibly huge amount of 3 dolls.. XD (DoTD & GB Draculauras and that Spectra). I think Spectra would look very good with black hair. Hmm.. And I realized I love white monsters, so I may have to hunt down Cupid somehow. :lookround: But I'm still not collecting these!! I hate dolls!! (Yes, still in denial).

Your welcome! Spectra & Abbey seem to be able to swap clothes quite well. For example, Spectra looks super in SS Abbey's swimsuit. She is pictured in it a few pages back. ;)
I've seen a few posts since I've frequented here about how there's "too many" Ghoulias. IMO, she can't be released ENOUGH! X3 She is my absolute favorite and I really love her designs, how classy and timeless they often are. Her styles are almost always my favorite out of any given line!
Yes, there were three exclusive Ghoulias last year (Comic Con, Gloom Beach, Fearleading), but there were two exclusive Draculauras (DOTD, Fearleading). I'm pretty sure that, over all, there are more releases of Draculaura than Ghoulia (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). Ghoulia was the only one of the main six girls who didn't get a SO release (love at first bite is SO Draculaura), which was totally lame. I don't know. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions and no one's is better than anyone else's, these are just my thoughts! :3
I think Draculaura's fashion and dolls are generally unappealing (ESPECIALLY if they put her in yellow!! ICK!) and kind of...boring. The only two Draculauras I've liked so far are Skull Shores and DOTD, and that's saying a lot given how many stinking Draculauras there are!
Everywhere I go, I see leftover SS Ghoulias, too!! Here are my thoughts on why:
I don't think that SS Ghoulia's design is "weak" or "ugly". I think she's beautiful. I'm overall really impressed with the SS dolls! That being said, isn't SS Lagoona the first "more affordable" version of Lagoona that's been made? She didn't get a Gloom Beach release and her Dead Tired release was ridiculously expensive. Maybe that is part of why her SS dolls are getting snapped up more often than Ghoulias? I think the same can be said for SS Abbey. She's MUCH more affordable than a signature Abbey right now (not to mention way easier to find..). And Gill is unique to the SS line so far, so of course he's popular too. And that leaves all the poor Ghoulias on the shelves. Not because she isn't beautiful, but because she is the least desired out of all the others and there have been other affordable versions of her put out before (DT).
However, I am going to agree with everyone else here and say that they really should have swapped out Ghoulia for Draculaura instead!! My Gill's eyes are a bit off and I want to get a new one sometime. It's sad to hear that he's been replaced by Draculaura. :(
What exactly is in the case of the second set of SS dolls? Like, how many of each character?
P.S. I just realized that in regards to Dracualaura's name, when I say her name aloud, I find myself saying DracuLARA! I rather like Lara!
Sigh...I've had Toralei for a few weeks and she is just not endearing herself to me. I love her outfit, but between the faulty stand, her problematic tail, and her character on the show I'm just not loving her. But I'm scared if I get rid of her I'll want her back! I can't vouch for the non-bleedingness of a sharpie (in fact it made me wtf o.O' a little). I get tired of the electric yellow and not just on Lala. Cleo and Clawdeen have been victemized by it as well.If I could sew, hypothetically, I could remove the velcro, detach the shirt from the skirt, dye the skirt and then wash it with that special detergent that absorbs bleeding dye and then put the dress back together. :/

Amazon has bumped up signatures to $22, the killer style dolls to $16 ( :shocked: ), and Skull Shores for either $18 or $19 (I haven't seen them in stock lately, though). TRU has signatures going for $25 now... These dolls are hard enough to find as it is. I think it's a testament to how much I like them that I'm sticking with them, though.

Haha, oh! I'm such a pony noob. Yes, that sounds like it would work for a pony, though I think it pretty funny that a girl with "Red" in her name is predominantly pink and yellow. My favorite pony (from my childhood) is white with sparkly white. (Not that I don't love colors - especially RAINBOWS!)

That's different, Tuney! Red Roses (who I adore) is pastel pink and yellow, which looks lovely together. Lala has hot pink, bright yellow, black, and white. Those colors just don't go together at all and yellow is a very loud, casual color. Yeah, without her wrappings, there's not much to scream 'monster' with cleo, even though she's clearly Egyptian...still doesn't immediately make one think 'mummy'That's basically why I don't own a single Cleo. I can justify owning dolls of they're green skinned with stitches, Cleo just too human. I don't think people would get her if they didn't know. On the other hand, she is a well-preserved zombie princess with no internal organs.

Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself to the Arena. My name is Kristen and I'm 29. I've been lurking here for a couple years (as long as MH has been around) and only decided to join just now thanks to Keelee! I snagged a DotD Deuce from that website she posted a few pages back (he has since sold out :( ) and I wanted to give her a proper THANK YOU! I only saw him once or twice in stores. Little did I know I'd never see him again. Just saved me $20 or $30 bucks.
I also wanted to add that I'm a completionist, and have just about all the dolls, fashions, playsets, and CAM's. I am missing Sig. Abbey though. Been looking for her weekly since June and never saw her once. Thank goodness they're re-releasing her in May. Anyway that's alittle about myself. Once again, thanks Keelee. Best tip yet!

DOTD Frankie and Lagoona both came in today! I'm very excited. Frankie is so terrifically 80's, and I like Lagoona's outfit much more in person. I love her makeup and shoes, of course, but this fauxhawk has got to go! I can see where Mattel was trying to go with it, and the concept is cool, but you can't mass-produce good fauxhawks.I ended up taking the back ponytail out and just washing the rest of the glue out of the hawk and combing it over to lean on the side. It looks pretty good :)

Perhaps the lack of stands means a lower price and technically you don't need the stands. You can just have your dolls sitting on you shelf or some people have had luck getting the dolls to stand on their own.
Anywhoodle, I am still up in the air about the twins. Part of me can not stand how flat they look and despises the whole "werecat" thing, but the completionist in me wants them something fierce. Bah! I don't know.....*grumblgrumble*

The lack of stands doesn't bother me, I usually sell mine anyway(I have 3 if anyone wants them). The kitties are super cute, I'm going to ask my pen friend to help me get them as I can't wait too long to get them.

If it is true that the new release dolls (Rochelle, Dot dead Gorgeous, etc.) are not coming with stands, then I would definitely be interested!!If you do want any just drop me a PM. As I'm rebuying a lot of old dolls, I'll probably have a few more.
I'm thinking this may only apply to these exclusive doll sets to potentially keep the overall prices down, but it would be upsetting for many people if they started leaving them out in future releases altogether. Most store exclusives seem to cut corners in some way by re-using older molds or simplifying the packaging and accessories though, so I wouldn't panic just yet. :)

If I can't find them then at least I still have the preorder to fall back on, and if I do I'll probably just keep the spare to trade.

Awww, I'm really not liking Deuce's new "surfer dude" voice, it doesn't suit him at all. :| I was hoping that the Valentine's Day special was just a fluke with the original VA just not being available. I'm very disappointed to see that it's carried on in the webisodes.

I feel a little less anxious now... the Toys R Us near me did at least get some Skull Shores dolls in and I was able to put the two I need on hold until tonight, yay! Also one other store I called has Physical Deaducation Ghoulia which I put on hold as well. Three more will be struck off my list tonight! Yessssss!
Now if only I'd luck out and find the twins when I make the long trip to town...

I love the CAMs! I've managed to build them all (except the Sea Monster) without buying extra Starter Packs. I used SS Abbey to build the Three eyed monster, Killer Style Lala to build the Vampire, and a SS Ghoulia to build the Skeleton. I used whatever pieces I had left to make the Bee and the Dragon. All I need now is a DT Ghoulia to finish the Grey Wolf, and I haven't quite figured out what to do with the Sea Monster yet. I thought I saw a similarly colored torso in the CAM Lab video, but that could have been wishful dreaming.

Well, I went to Wal-mart today, and as usual there were no MH dolls. :P
But, I did manage to get the name of the Toy Department manager of the store! So, I will be calling tomorrow and hopefully be able to find out when new dolls are going to arrive. <3

I still have the spare parts from Abbey and Ghoulia (except the lower legs. I always damage those pulling 'em out of the sockets). You never know what you may need down the road.If you ever have Ghoulia's lower arms and hands for sale, I'd be interested. I've got a Ghoulia that needs them and the Mattel supply shop hasn't had any the last few weeks. I hope they restock them.

This employee helping me on the phone was a lot chattier and friendlier than the other stores and when I said I'd been calling all over she said that they were told there was a manufacturing problem. I had a good haul tonight myself! Spent too much money from my income tax return but I knew I'd regret it if I didn't buy these now. Didn't find the twins but I got SS Lagoona, SS Abbey, Classroom Ghoulia & Frankie, The Hydration Station, and Clawdeen's Bed... plus Lagoona's swimsuit fashion pack and Deuce's casketball fashion pack and picked up Spectra's fashion pack from my best friend. :) I feel satisfied with my haul for today for sure!

Aldepending on where you bought them I would personal say 10-15. As the Bunk bed is 30-35 and the HS is 40-45. I could see charging 20 each if they came with there clothes and such but not a nude doll. But they are yours to price as you wish.

OK, I got a question for those of you with multiples of Ghoulia. Does she have the same face shape in all the releases? I like her first release face, but it looks like some of them are not the same. You know, I never considered myself a doll person (I got into books at a very young age and never looked back) but I'm finding it very relaxing to change a doll's look before I go to bed at night. Nice little way to slow my brain down and let the stress of the day go, and instead wonder why Operetta's pants refuse to close in the back!
Since I am kinda new to MH, I was wondering 2 things.the bangs make me crazy -- I have managed to get mine pinned over (i used her glasses pushed up like a head band to hold them in place)
One - is there a way to style or do something with SS Ghoulia's bangs? They drive me crazy. I really rather have a long haired version, but until then I need to do something with the bangs.
two- Moxie clothing seems rather large on MH, is there a way to make it more fitting without alot of sewing? I really am bad at sewing.

I have heard Liv wigs work if you take out the peg since the cam peg hole is at a different height than the Liv hole peg if you leave the peg on it won't sit right.

I left the peg in the liv wigs. I have a few of them, and the only one that is a little long in the front is the black and pink one. the bangs hang over the eyes, but a little trim would fix that.

I had gotten the pink and purple one to go on the 3eyed monster, but so far I'm ok with how her stock wig looks. lol... I need to fix dragon girl's wig a little better. her bangs are crooked ;) never said I was a hair dresser ;)
Here is a picture of my CAMs, as promised. The Skeleton was made from a SS Ghoulia. I painted parts of her shoes black so they pop alittle more. The Bee is made from the CAM Grey Wolf pieces. She is wearing Sig. Lala leggings to cover the color differences, and GB Frankie shoes (which I'm in the middle of painting.) The Three Eyed girl was a SS Abbey. The Dragon has the Vampire torso. She's wearing Abbey's hat until I can find her a cheap CAM wig. The Vampire is Killer Style Lala with the head and forearms and hands of the CAM set. Lastly is the Grey Wolf. All I need to complete her is a DT Ghoulia. I'll do the same with her as I did with the Vampire, use the head, forearms, and hands from the CAM set and put them on Ghoulia's body.
No, I'm sorry Saiko, I don't. They were pretty mangled. I just rip 'em out with pliers. They were garbage by the end of things :(No problem :D It was so worth it to be able to display all your CAM packs fully! I just hope all that pulling with the pliers didn't hurt your hands. I got a painful blister from just taking the hair out of the inside of a head!

I have a question for anyone who has customized a MH doll. Does the hair take to dying? Like with the RIT fabric dye. I am going to be making a custom soon and I am hoping to dye the original dolls hair, just enough to tint it so it is a slightly different shade. I was just wondering if it would work, and if I need to worry about the hair staining the body or not.

i have tried 3 times to dye Frankie's hair pink...no luck. i even tried 2 different brands of dye (RIT and Tulip) ....i left the Rit on for several hours the last time, and nothing. I was really trying to avoid a full reroot.
Their hair is not made of the same stuff as pony hair but there is a method to dye them. I haven't tried it yet myself but I have seen it used for customs on the MH LJ with success.

so I got a Frankie from NoDivision with this adorable dress (made by NoD)
and what a better excuse than that to customize her a bit. So all the black has been removed from her hair, with pink put in its place. I totally LOVE her like this ♥
At midnight, I was out at Walmart picking up the latest sims 3 xpac and the MH shelves were all empty. I went to the guy who stocks the shelves and asked about it. He scratched his head in bewilderment because he said he just stocked it the night before. Anyway he asked an associate to scan the shelf tags and see if the 5000 piece truck had any on it. Yep they had 2 boxes somewhere in the back. He also said according to the computer that these were the last shipments planned for that store for a while. :( I didn't get to stay and get any, which was sad. I had rode up there with a friend and she couldn't sit around waiting. The guy said it could be hours before they found the boxes. I wanted to share this story though because of what they told me about the shipments. Are there no new waves coming soon? I heard Venus wasn't coming out til August.

YAY! I finally found operetta today! In holland, just waiting for me on the shelf of a lical toyshop. They also had nefera and toralei and it was sooo hard to leave them there, but I made a promise to myself that I would not buy any toys this month, for I have four birthdays this month I have to buy presents for. But, you won't believe this, it was actually my mother who told, aw what the heck, its only 25 euro, if you go out for sushi you spent it too and poop it out the next day. At least the doll will be here tomorrow. Haha. So I caved and she is mine and I love her even more than I thought I would. Her details are breathtaking! Only thing I'm annoyed by is her TERRIBLE box hair. It's dry and fluffy with a bad haircut and a bad case of split ends. Anybody having any problems with operettas hair? Lagoonas is pretty awful, but this hair is even worse. oh well, nm, I'm just so happy :) I have operetta!

No I am afraid not...those are deposit pages...this is why people need to be so careful on Taobao - these are suppliers who are expecting stock [hopefully] and asking for a down payment against the item...they are listed at 100YUAN which is around £10 for a deposit - you need to contact the supplier for a "final" total but you should note that the price quoted may be not what you pay...you may pay more or even a little less.
Taobao does not make sense for MH purchases they are simply too expensive...unlike with ponies which tend to be a little more reasonable. This is because most MH items are packaged where as a lot of pony pieces are factory test/fun/reject or simply loose items.
Just saw the new green witch CAM coming out and I LOVE her. But I'm sooo pissed that she doesn't come with a green torso.

Agreed. I was looking at the prices and really it's just too prohibitive to get the items. For instance, for Holt it would cost over $100 USD just to get it shipped to the AGENT. That didn't include shipping charges on to me.

I still do not have her name, I need to make her clothes, and I need some flat clear coat to seal her paint... She is based on a snow leopard, so not really a 'monster' per se. But I love how she came out! Her hair is actually two-toned from dying it, but my camera will just not pic it up. :/ I dyed the last about 3/4 ths of it purple, leaving the part closest her head blue. (She was a Dead Tired Ghoulia.)
Anyway, what do you all think of her so far? <3 I might add some whisker spots to her, and maybe some spots to her face. I just need to decide. And I just realized she still needs eyebrows!!

Along with this,I also think the lips need a little editing as well.She looks like shes frowning.
But don't worry!You're doing great for a first timer.I love the spots,you did a great job n making them look organic.I'm sure she'll look great.
I also think that instead of the line connecting the eyes and nose you should have taken a chalk pastel and created dark shadows around the nose for a more subtle look,but thats almost purely opinion.Maybe some spots on the body too?

so while at target yesterday, I ran into my friend who works there and had her scan the tag for howleen/clawdeen set, and according to their computer they wont be getting them until september.... :sigh: all I can say is for my sanity's sake, I hope the computer is wrong.

Mistic_imp but think of the possible houses, clothing and accessories that Bratzillaz could bring to the table for our MH dolls. I would think it would be really great to have another line similar that could help expand on the lifestyle and decorating of our beloved MH.
On another note- I got my Draculaura Saturday- I am so happy. I lucked out at Walmart and got some Moxie outfits for a dollar a piece and she's wearing a wine colored shirt with jeans for now. I plan on getting them some decent clothing, but I just am not sure where to get them. I never ever see doll clothing in bags at the thrift stores anymore :(
I really do love your pictures. Makes me regret not buying Nefera and Cleo when I saw them. I love Egypt and the lore and history and mystery, but for some reason the dolls just didn't scream at me. The Frankie and Clawd is really really cute, I love seeing pictures where they look like they are living a life. Thank you for sharing!

Not really. You might be able to glue it if you were able to get the piece out of the socket, but I think getting it out would either widen the socket too much, or crush the peg. And I'm betting the glue would make it too thick if you did.
The same thing happened to my DT Lagoona. I need to get around to ordering a new arm. I have her posed so you can't tell, but I would like it to work properly.

I might! Not right now, I shouldn't have bought the doll hehe, but when I can buy something again, I probably will. Sadly I haven't found her fashion pack. And I only found some of the fashion packs at TRU, and those are all Lala's. Though once I found several of Spectra's fashion pack...that just made me sad because I can't find her.
And I'm actually thinking about taking the ponytail down. >.> I don't quite like it. Though I'm sure if I hold onto the rubber band I can put it back up. :D

My origional ghoulias hand snapped off yesterday :( the little clip in peice snapped off right at the wrist so i can't fix it and I can't get the plastic out of her arm! I'm so dissapointed. I took the other hand off first but now I'm scared to put it back on. I'm going to have to try and glue her broken hand back on :(

Do any of you know if Sweet 1600 Clawd is still hitting stores? My Kmart restocked and they had at least 4 Frankies, 4 Lalas, and 3 Clawdeens, but no Clawds :( I know some of you have been asking about him too. Have they taken him out of the cases? Also I've noticed his price point is rising on Amazon, while the girl's prices are falling. Please don't tell me I waited too long to pick up the 1600 dolls......

How much is the Clawdeen/Howleen set at Target? Since I'm from Canada, I'm thinking of asking someone in the US if they see them, if they pick me up a set......

I was in contact with Mattel Australia a month or so ago because my DotD Lagoona came out of the box with only one fin :/ They didn't offer me anything other than to exchange the doll at the store I bought it from which was not possible as I bought the last one in stock, or I could send it to Mattel for a full refund or exchange for something of equal value - also not possible because I bought DotD Lagoona for a reason :( So in the end I'm stuck with a semi fin-less Lagoona and nothing from Mattel to make up for it... They were friendly enough but not very helpful.
It may be different for arms though so I'd definitely contact them about it :) Just explain what happened and see what they say.

call ahead, to my knowledge (from a target employee) if you call and they have it, and you ask to put it on hold, they have to hold it for 24 hours.

okapishomapi- I totally feel the same way. But luckily for us we have this great pony community who can help us, and we can help them. Working together makes it a even better experience in collecting in the first place. I didn't collect BeGoth dolls when they were in stores and now, the ones I have wanted are really jacked up in price. I am trying not to let that happen with the MH dolls. I originally only wanted to collect the base girls- Drac, Frankie and Clawdeen and Lagoona. But now I am drawn to the others and want them too. But I am trying hard to just stick with one of each girl- no variations and doubles of one character. But since most of my girls are nude when I get them, that adds to what I need to buy- clothing and shoes. But I am not picky about what they are wearing as long as they look cute. But yes it gets very frustrating to know that there are dolls that you want and you google only to find tons and TONS of that doll being butchered by aweful custom jobs, or a person with 3 of them just because they can, or ebay having that said doll priced as much as a monthly rent payment.

If all your Sig Ghoulia needs is arms Bewilderness, you can buy extra parts from Mattel. They are pretty reasonable too, I wanna say like $5-6.

Why is Mattel farting out all these new lines of MH dolls when people still can’t find the previous lines they’ve released? I don’t get it. I still can't find some of the dead tired dolls, most of the Wave 2 dolls, and wave 2 of DOTD.
Don't corporations like Walmart have to pay Mattel for “exclusive” toys, like Cupid? It seems like Mattel would at least try to make more Cupids so people could actually buy them and bring in promised profits to Walmart. Cupid never even came to my area.

Not as far as I know, but then I'm not on the LJ or any other MH boards, so I don't know if there are rumors out there. Crimson, do you know if your Target has a hard time getting the dolls? I've been reading the complaints on the thread about doll fads, and it's amazing to me that it hasn't been addressed by mattel. Are stores only getting in one case every two weeks or something? I just don't get it at all. It seems that some Walmarts never got any Cupids, and there won't be any more coming in later? Whole displays go up, just to sit empty a week later, and then gradually the shelves are filled with other toys. Aren't store managers upset about this? I'm so excited about Rochelle and Venus, but I'm absolutely DREADING the thought of tracking them down.

That's how i am too, I'd rather take the chances of running into empty shelves that might have a couple dolls with the perfect/best makeup than having to pick one by one through a bunch of dolls with less than decent makeup making a mess to find the perfect one. "The thrill of the hunt" is what I enjoy in collecting the MH dolls (as well as the dolls too, duh XP lol). If they don't have it at the store, whats the worst that'll happen? I come home empty handed and then mope about it for a little here then wait till the next search trip.

So is it possible to give a CAM girl the thighs and upper arms of a regular doll? I want to recreate a Skeleton CAM using the arms, thighs, and torso of a Spectra, but I don't know if it's doable. I'm guessing not.

If you ever decide to try Etsy for a custom torso again, I'd highly recommend JemGirlCreations - yes, she's in Australia, so depending on where you are it can be a little bit of a wait, but I was very happy with her work, and her communication (she even sent me a picture of the items before mailing them). If you buy more than one torso at a time (or torsos and shoes. Her shooooooooes! eg. She does ADORABLE clear MH heels with cupcake sprinkles inside them! That is who I ordered from as well. She is a on a monster high forum and I bought a lot of clothes from her and they arrived just fine. Her husband says she has had health issues and will be shipping, but I'm not sure I buy it. The last time she posted over there was weeks ago. A heads up that Skull Shores Frankie is starting to pop up at Justice clothing stores. They're also having their typical 40% sale, so her price should come to about $9. I feel horrible for those that overspent thinking she was going to be rare.
That's why the MH community has that "Help against Scalping" banner and pledge, (though I don't know where you sign the pledge or it is just a silent understanding) on their websites. I have seen it on some blogs and some MH websites.Oh gosh, I'm not griping against scalpers. (I know somone who briefly considered reselling dolls at a profit to help ease her financial stress, so I try not to hold negative thoughts against scalpers as a whole. You never know why someone may be using that method to make an honest living. ((And yes, I consider selling dolls on ebay to willing buyers honest. No matter how crazy it may seem that the buyers are willingly shelling out $80 for those dolls. :) ))) Scalpers can be annoying, yes, but I don't want to go blaming them if it's simply a case of the product not being available yet!
Oh goodness, I never thought when I mentioned that banner I would be directing torwards anyone. I was just mentioning that some people do believe in fair pricing. I noticed some ebayers do price fairly, but 140 bucks for Spectra is insane. AllisLove, I hope you didn't take offense, it totally wasn't my intentions. Yes they are annoying when prices are jacked, but I understand why ebay exists, and it is a necessary evil in the buyer/seller world. If it weren't for people on ebay most of us would not have half of the things we have. And yes sometimes downsizing a collection to help real life situations does happen and I don't think negative about it, I have done it too. 450 ponies- 442= 8 ponies :( but I really was at a point in my life I had to. I do hope she was able to keep her collection and things worked out for your friend. Sometimes God helps when you think all is lost. Anyway, I seem to be rambling on, but please know I am not negative on people who use it as a way to earn income.*HUG!* I'm so sorry to hear about your ponies. The sign made me ridiculously happy, especially since last night my friend told me she went to a Target to look for dolls and just as she was entering the doll aisle, a lady left the area carrying all of the Monster High dolls. All of them. At least ten, stacked up and falling out of her arms. And there were little girls in the aisle, practically crying because all the dolls were gone. :/

I managed to get Operetta the other day :dance: She was at Kmart where all basic dolls were only $19, only one there. Her hair though... must you drench the head in glue when curls are present, Mattel? Oh well, nothing a good wash won't be able to get out.

There is apparently an employee at my local TRU who is very "in the know" about Monster High, so they paged her to ask if they were meant to have a new store exclusive in stock, as nobody else knew what I was talking about and the person who was helping me couldn't find anything. The shoes are the pair that comes with the CaM Dragon/Werewolf set and I made some leg warmers to go over the top of them :biggrin:
I also added 2.0 Frankie's belt, Signature Spectra's necklace and Ghoul Spirit Ghoulia's earrings. I made the leg warmers, pants, dress, jacket and tied a piece of fabric around for the other belt.

I got 1600 Clawdeen today, she has such thick hair! Now just need to find Cleo and Nefera since they are my husband's favorites.

I noticed Draculaura's height is shorter then my other dolls, how does her height compare with Howleens? I am curious since they both are shorter. Tho in the show Drac is very very tiny compared to the others in some parts of the show and then in others she's only semi shorter.

That's good granted they mean two of each doll per customer and not two dolls per customer, period. The latter would kind of suck for legit buyers who aren't out to scalp the dolls. xD
All the TRUs, Targets, and Walmarts near me are devoid of Monster High dolls save the occasional Sweet 1600 doll. It's always depressingly empty in the MH section and has been since late last year.
My signature Abbey and my 2.0 Clawdeen look taller than the dolls they're next to, since their boots give them some extra lift :)

I'm wondering if that once these three new ghouls come out how long it will be until they no longer show up on shelves? (as well as the two exclusives sets.) Does anyone know how long it usually takes until dolls stop showing on shelves? I'm guessing that these 3 will be around till the end of the year but I may be (most likely am) wrong.

Doesn't Mattel make you pay for return shipping? At least that is what they did to me after they sent me a defective wave 2 Lagoona (her make up had smeared inside the box probably due to being packaged while still wet; sad, as other than her lip mishap she was bloody perfect). Hopefully you can find one soon that doesn't have misapplied paint on it.
Some of it is going to depend on what other dolls they have planned for the rest of the year. What they've shown us from Toy Fair (the newest signature characters, RM, DT2, DDG, new fashions, Coffin Grind, etc) is all part of the spring stuff. The fall releases haven't been revealed yet, but this past year's fall stuff would include all the new characters released in the fall/winter, 1600, CaM, SS, etc.
I wouldn't recommend sitting on your hands when it comes to characters you think you might want. Even though some versions may stick around in various cases, there's no guarantee that every doll will be available for six to eight months. If you see it for a price you're willing to pay for it, get it.

Tempting, but I don't know if I'd trust ordering from Shopko again. I tried with the Pinkie Pie ornament before Christmas and they had my account tied up with the pending charge for about 3 days before they let me know they were out of stock and cancelling my order. Why Rehair Holt? Reharing Basic or GB Jackson would be a lot easier and just paint him blue since they are the exact same mold just different colors.

their hair is not as sturdy as MLP nylon hair. it does melt in boiling water :(

Hmm, I hadn't heard that the doll's hair had been changed (other than signature Ghoulia being switched from saran to kanekalon). Of my latest batch, I boiled SS Lala and Lagoona, but not Operetta, Nefera or SS Frankie. Of course, it never hurts to be cautious! :)

Wave 1 Lagoona was one of the more lackluster dolls in terms of outfit, I think. Wave 2 Lagoona is beauuuuutiful and possibly one of the best wave 2 dolls, imo. xD

How much is she? I'm not sure if Canada is going to get her so I'm debating on buying her from someone in the US.....Dunno, if anyone still needs/wants one, but I have an extra SS Frankie.
It would be $12 + shipping. Boxed would probably run you about 7-8, unboxed could go for cheaper (I haven't shipped any unboxed yet!). I always ship them in boxes though, I don't trust the postal service to handle them gently enough.

I just picked up Operetta and Cupid today. There are at least 6-7 Cupid's left in "hidden clearance" section for 20$. I'm tempted to get another Cupid to customize or just use with the mix 'n match parts. =^_^=;

I had that exact problem with my bee girl - almost snapped a needle trying to hair that part. Just gave up and rooted around the edges, and it gave a nice amount of body, considering. So far she's been the worse, while my wolf was tough, but manageable. Maybe it's because the earless gals have less plastic in their moulds, so they need a little more stabilizing?

One of the werewolf girl heads i received to work on is....infuriating. if this is a new trend we can forget about rooting anything but ponytails from here on in.
There is a completely separate price at the apex of the head where the wig hole is that is HARD PLASTIC!
Its enough to make me want to curse. I have to check my spare head and see if its soft plastic. But this is so wrong >.< how is this better/cheaper than having the head all one price of soft plastic??
Tuneful - when you mentioned the skeleton I went and flipped mine over to peek inside (she's on my craft shelf, waiting for her hair). It has a seperate hard piece glued into the crown, compared to the one-piece that my 3-eyed gal is made off. O.o Maybe they had batches made at different factories?

I just got the vampire/sea monster pack, and they both have that problem. :( Which is a shame, because I wanted to reroot the sea monster in a color that definitely isn't sold in a wig. I guess I'm going to have to learn how to make a wig myself.

Yup. The presence of a tail hole definitely made me think that it's probably a newer version... *sigh* I wonder if I'd be able to trade with anyone with an older version.

Wow, I saw actual dolls in Wal-Mart and Target today! Skull Shores alone but they had tons of Frankies. I was on the fence about her, but after seeing her in person I gotta say.. I hate the hair. :poke: Too much like Toreili's cut.. (which I also hate, haha!). Oh well. I'd love her if only long smooth or curly locks. Oh well. >< One less doll to eat $12 of mine. :PNot to tempt you unnecessarily but if you brush the glue out, she's quite charming. (And no need to worry about washing/brushing out stripes like Torelei!) :D

Deuce's new mimbo voice and personality is really starting to grate on me. I can't get behind the changes they made to him, I liked him much better before.
I'm disappoint- I was hoping to get a glimpse of Rochelle when they showed the Gargoyles. P: Do you guys think they'll get minor parts like Spectra and Abbey? Or was our glimpse of Venus all we're getting?Most likely they'll make a role in the webisodes for them, that's what happened with Abbey and Spectra, as well as Operetta.

I cant believe they got Cam Clarke doing most of the Male voices! WOW! In the show they used to have more i swear, that Heath's voice was originally different in the first few episodes we saw him in.
Now Cam Clarke does the voices for Deuce, Heath, and Romulous, and HooDoo.
