I am finally getting Sandcastle! Yay!
Her head needs to be glued back on! Boo!
What kind of glue should i use?
-
I used Gorrila Super Glue for my pony heads.
-
Oh, i think that is what my husband said. I am not gonna live this down.
-
I just use krazy glue. A little bit goes a long way. I've also come to accept that no matter how hard I try I will get it on my fingers...
-
So there isn't really a glue that will hurt the plastic? I have always heard that super glue was bad.
-
Some glue has acetone in it, which can eat plastic.
I've always used good ol' Aleene's Tacky Glue for most things. It doesn't have an instant hold so you need to use clamps or something. Rubber bands are good for holding heads on while they dry.

I kinda use whatever I have handy, depending on the pony, some are harder to get stuck than others, I once made a custom out of one of those white G3's and I thought i was never going to get that head to hold, I tried 3 different glues and was in a bit of a panic because it was for a swap xD... (I had also cut the entire internal neck joint out tho.. I never do that anymore lol)

I was thinking about tacky glue, since Sandcastle isn't going on any grand adventures anytime soon. I will check the glue for acetone before i use it!

I've used a few different options, but I normally stick with some verison of super glue because it is easier with quick drying. It can ruin the finish of plastic/vinyl or mess with hair plug holes when directly applied, but due to it being internal, I have never seen it create an issue for necks. If the head can stay without glue, I just leave it though, even if that allows for turning that wasn't previously a feature.
