I was finally able to finish my sitting pose Gusty today!! :D She's made from one of those "Paint Your Own Unicorn" fakies from Five Below. I was able to snag two of them. One to keep as is, and one to turn into an awesome Gusty for my Army! Yay!! I'm not a professional customizer, I make maybe one custom every 5 years or something, but I think I like how she came out. ^-^ What do you think?

Did you rehair the white hair? How did that go?

Wow thanks pinkkittywinks! ^-^ She was a pretty simple custom. Just a little re-hairing and eye color, symbol, tail painting. This was a perfect base for a Gusty for sure! :)
Yes, I have some very special Gusty's from you in there! Love them so much!!<3

Thank you!! :) Yes, I rehaired her mane. It wasn't too bad, but the holes were rather inconsistant and small-ish. I had to skip one here and there because they were too close together, and add some new ones where they were too far apart, etc. The holes were a bit small for my tool, so had to widen them just before each plug with another needle.

She is a stunner! :inlove:
That's an amazing custom - I love how you managed to match the colour of her tail to her mane! Her symbols look crisp too - it's as if she was factory made! :iconclap: :thumb:

You did such a good job on her! Congrats! She looks wonderful :)
-
I love her! And you got the color of her tail just right. She looks legit!
-
She is so beautiful. :inlove:
-
She looks so beautiful!! Great match with the tail paint as well!
-
Thanks guys! ^-^
The tail color was surprisingly easy to match since I happened to have some metallic "emerald green" paint, which was pretty darn close already! Then I just added a tiny touch of metallic "blue sapphire" and it was perfect. And perfect shiny-ness to match the shiny new hair. ;)

She's beautiful!

She's fabulous!

She looks great :D You have an amazing army too!
-
Gorgeous! She looks like she could be official. Also wow, I didn't know those fakies were that big.
-
Nice work! I agree that it looks like she could be offical. Her symbol isn't the easiest one to get perfect, but looks like you are spot on.
-
Woah, those fakies are huge! I knew they were larger than G1s, but I hadn't seen it in perspective until now.
That being said, you did outstanding work on her - the symbols especially; painting all those little leaves is a pain in the butt. Excellent!

Yes, those Five Below unicorns are quite large! Just makes her stand out more, which is kind of cool actually. :)
And thank you! I have made a few Gusty customs over the years, but doing her symbol always gives me some anxiety. I usually finish the whole custom and leave her without symbols for another week or so until I work up the courage to tackle them. lol!

very nice!

I still need to work on my two blanks, thinking about either cutting the tail off the one and resculpting so it can have a brushable tail or making a non-brushable mane
-
Adorable! Great job on the symbols, and I love the army shot.
-
Wow, she looks great!! I didn't even realize the tail wasn't rooted hair until someone pointed it out - you matched the colour *perfectly*!! Fantastic job! :)
-
She's lovely! I love sitting pose customs.
-
She's beautiful! :lovey:  and what an incredible army!
Definitely want to track down some of these blanks sometime. ^.^

Aww, thanks everyone ^-^

Oh, I like the idea of a sculpted mane! It is a little weird to have molded tail but rooted mane, but I think they have a special charm about them. :)

You did a really great job on her. Love your majestic Gusty herd too.
-
Wow fabulous work! I adore Gusty!

Love her! I had no idea these fakies were so big. But she turned out beautifully and she's a perfect addition to your wonderful army - congrats!
