Mine are:

-Rainbow curl
-Flutter

Post by: Taffeta on August 10, 2019, 02:09:24 PM: Cumulatively for me the sets listed in the UK fact file under the heading My Little Pony, which basically covers all the early earth, unicorn and pegasus ponies, movie star ponies and the UK releases like Gypsy and Honeycomb, as well as the US ponies that were not sold here (Medley, Surprise etc). And the three that didn't exist - Ribbon, Lofty and Paradise without flocking.

Also Twinkle Eyes, Flutters and Newborn Twins I guess.

Mountain Boys, Princesses and Twice as Fancy.

..basically my favourites tend to come from lines up to 1988.

I forgot about the MB’s! The UK got some cool releases!

They were the only boys I had as a kid. I knew about the others but never saw them for some reason in stores. Years later the other boys were pretty common second hand in my area so I guess they just sold really quickly...

Boy ponies seem to have been popular here!

I love those hair ponies (hair do, great hair) that were released in the U.K in the early 90's. So pretty!

Post by: Taffeta on August 10, 2019, 02:42:29 PM: Yeah, the hair ponies are pretty :D The twisties are kind of weird on the Hairdo ponies but it's possible to style them to look really pretty and I like the pearly sheen. Plus the crimps of the Great Hair Ponies are awesome too. :D

I forgot about hair-related lines. As a kid, hairstyling was one of my favourite pony things.

Add Brush & Grow to my list.

...It might be quicker to list sets I don't like....

Flutters (with wings, of course!) and Twinkle Eyes are also close contenders, as well as the scented sets and Glow N Shows/Sparkle ponies. Oh, and I think the Secret Surprise ponies were also a cool set!

Unique symbols (Ringlet's is my fave), curls, multicolored hair, pegasus and unicorn included, yellow pony included - if they had a green one instead of pink they would have been perfect in my book :cool:

- Rollerskate - Neon colored ponies with skates and a walkman? Absolutely SCREAMS of 80s and its wonderful.
- Baby sea ponies - Seahorse? Small? LITTLE FLOATS???? Perfect and wonderful.
- Newborn twins - Baby ponies with lots of accessories that come in pairs!! If you like one, you always know theres a similar one!

So they are just called my little pony!? Movie ponies is a much better name for them!

In the Uk they were sold as "My Little Pony", but in France, and other places, they were sold as Movie Star ponies (Cine-Star, etc). In the UK too in catalogues they were advertised as movie ponies, even if not on the cards, so that seems the best name for them overall :) They were stars in the movie, after all.

Incidentally, one of the nicest backcard designs, that one :)

1. Glow 'n Show Ponies - Very beautiful designs and I love their appearance in My Little Pony Tales. They are inspiring ponies for me.

2. Sparkle Ponies - Also beautiful and inspiring, it would have been great to have seen these given episodes. They would have been nice to have had as a kid as well (but I feel like that about most of the G1s.)

3. Slumber Party Gift Pack - There's something nostalgic about slumber parties and I love ponies with a night time/bed time theme to them, as that also has a childhood nostalgia attachment to it - I'd have loved for them to have gotten a one off episode about their slumber party. Also, in my opinion, Pillow Talk is a cute name. :silly:

4. 7 Pony Friends - Gotta show some love for the Tales ponies. Seriously though, I do love these ponies; even without their show they are beautifully designed, and definitely look like ponies I would have wanted back then.

5. I'm honestly not sure what line goes here... Tropical Ponies for their fun tropical looks? First year Twice as Fancy ponies, because of their beautiful design? Mountain Boys because I get some level of inspiration from them too? I honestly don't know at the moment... sorry.

- sundae best, though i dont have the whole set, i love the pastels, sweet smells and ice cream sticky outy symbols :lol:

-glitter symbols unicorns and pegs.(glory, medley ...) i love them all and nostalgia

- now the next is super hard between and first sets of big brother, flutters and seapony babies ....yep can't make up my mind :P

Baby Ballerinas- Admittedly, this is a bit of a nostalgic bias, as Baby Sweetsteps was my first G1 as a kid. Even so, I love their little poseable legs and their molded leotards.
