I recently purchased some G1 ponies on ebay, and unfortunately, their legs have been smushed (possibly due to storage?) to the extent that they cannot stand on their own without tipping over.
I'm hoping that I can un-smush them, but so far I have not had any success (I've tried leaving a wide pen between their legs overnight to spread them back to the proper position, but no luck).
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I always roll up a paper towel or small piece of cloth.
You have to rool it up tightly, but it will hold them for a while (just make sure the towel is white, or it could stain the pony)

as long as there are no so-softs try running hot water on there legs till they get all squishy, then do the pen trick- I normaly leave it for about a week and its helped quite a number of ponys~

Ive heard using a big marker and placing pony in freezer

If the hot water doesn't work a short bake in the oven will soften the legs up so you can position something to hold their legs where you want them until it cools and firms back up.
-
Dipping them into a bowl of warm water, gently mould them into the position you prefer and then hold them into place [how you do this will depend on the severity of the damage and which pose the pony is in] - if you need to put something between the legs to separate them then dont use anything which is going to also gouge into the plastic - the best idea is a small piece of cloth or paper towel...not a pen or similar...something with a bit of "give"!
Good luck...its always fun....

Thank you so much for the tips! I'll give them a try and cross my fingers :)

I hope it works!

i have done the hot water and pen trick/lipblam and it worked super :)
love pkw xxx

I've used hot water but also a good hot hairdryer tends to work well. Then just use a pen, lip balm, small bottles, etc to keep the legs apart.. :)

What I've done in the past with smushed ponies is pop their heads off, fill them will boiling water and letting them stand there until the water cools! It's worked with all my ponies that have smashed legs and don't stand right and has not hurt them at all!

I dip the legs in boiling water for a about 30 seconds, take them out, and then prop something inbetween the legs (I used a pair of sunglasses to keep Primrose propped) to get them back into the proper position. You can even just stick them in the freezer to speed the process along. It's just a matter of fixing the plastic into place.

Thanks for posting this! I was wondering the same thing about a couple of my poor little walking pose G1's. XD

I am definitely trying this, what an awesome tip!

Does this kind of thing work with the G4s? Like, would I be able to use boiling water for slight reposes?
