so this one popped on ebay so I was glad they took a best offer

Since seller was from Bogota I'm thinking she's colombian and not the venne she was advertised as - she reminds me of other blue/pink combos (bowtie, big brother, blossom)
but she is decidedly bigger than colombian AJ I am familiar with so here are the pics for comparison:

colombian (as is typical) doesn't line up head/neck seam. For once, this colombian's head is glued so doesn't move. I do find it interesting that this new colombian's not only bigger, but squishier and her neck and head align. Overall I like her just would love to know why she's different (other than the story of how she had a growth spurt :P XD )
Does anyone know if there was more than one manufacturer for colombian MLPs? I don't know much about the history of these guys as much as I love the colores vivos

Apple-tie?? What a combination she is and congratulations on adding her to your collection.
The eyes, freckles, symbols and hair texture say Colombia to me :) buuut her size! She is taller than the others (super model perhaps?).
What are her hoof marks? Also how heavy does she feel? She has a sheen to her that you see with the Colombian ponies :) Is her head loose at all? Might be worth taking a peek inside if her head is loose.
So many questions :blush:
I know LadyG has speculated over the years that there *may* be another South American country that made ponies all those years ago.

Apple-tie feels way heavier than regular US applejack and about the same as her rainbow-hair cousin
Normally I would be able to pop the head and check tail as the giveaway for vennes was finding that tail knot style but I am still debating as her head is on tight so lemme sit for a bit and just enjoy her before deciding to go all "science-y" and opening her up

so here she is next to regular US AJ - hope you can see she is taller. Basically seems the legs are longer is the main difference of the mold

Oh I had a thought! I wonder if it was an irregular or odd mould? I know some of the CP Colombian's have the ITALY stamp, showing they had been made using a "funny" mould.
Her colours make me think she is the perfect partner for the pink and blue Colombian Daddy Apple Delight.

In my files I found two other Colombian ponies in a similar colour way :) Both pictures saved off eBay many years ago.

oh sweet save of those other pics off good ol ebay :-) yep, that one's head is also a good seal so it is possible it was originally an italy mold and then they did their own maybe later? Dunno but that is a good working theory
although the kid in me likes you calling her the "supermodel" version ;-)

How does her size & mold characteristics compare to Italian shy pose ponies?
I would not doubt that she is a Colombian pony based on colors, eyes, paint quality, etc. It is possible that the factory had multiple mold sets & one happened to be larger. In that case, that pony may have been cast out of the master mold they used to create subsequent molds off of.

Oh that is a good thought KKV! I hadn't thought about the Master Mould being possibly what she was made using.
