My mom visited us a couple weeks ago, and she brought my (small) Breyer herd with her. I finally pulled them out of the box today and got them arranged on my shelf. So happy to have them back!! (The small buckskin and paint in the front are thrift store finds within the past year or two; the others are from way back when.)

I have a question about the Arabian foal on the end, though. Does anyone know how to clean up/re-whiten a vintage Breyer like that? I don't want to damage the paint, of course. There are some areas that are more brownish than others.

(Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to make pictures post from Instagram, and Photobucket is displeased with my trying to display pictures here.)

They're beautiful! Is that Mesteno?

I think it's Spirit, actually. There is a little silver horse image on it's belly.

Oh cool!

The red Man 'o War model was my first Breyer. My cousin gave him to me as a gift when I was about seven.

Gorgeous!! You have a lovely childhood herd! It must be so nice to have them back!
As for whitening up the little foal, I'd just pop him in front of a sunny window and check in on him every now and then. You'll be amazed at how fast they whiten up sometimes!

Man o War was one of my first Breyers! Along with Misty and Stormy of Chincoteague.

That would do the opposite. My horses have yellowed slightly because of the sun.

That is so cool that you got them back. Congrats

Thanks, everyone.
There was one day last year, when my mom was going through things and packing up to move, that she called to say she couldn't find them and thought they had been donated. I was not happy. Then she emailed later that day to say that she had opened another box, and there they were. Total relief!!
And now they are back with me!! :good:
