This girl was my first attempt at a custom in a long time. I started her before Christmas last year, but some frustrations over the tail snapping off made me lose motivation and she got tucked away. A few weeks ago I was working on some other customs and decided it was time she got finished, so the others are waiting instead and she finally gets to go on the display shelf lol.
I will admit that I didn't sculpt the wings. I've always found wings too daunting, but didn't want that to stop me from making this custom, so I cut some wings off a toy bird and sculpted the feathers to blend them in. Everything else was sculpted by my hands, her base was a G4.5 Rainbow Dash and her tail hair was scavenged from a bait G3.
So without further ado, my G4 Hippogriff interpretation of the Bald Eagle - she doesn't have a name yet.
I almost gave her an American Flag inspired cutie mark but decided to leave her more natural in appearance.

I'm considering breaking my 'never again' rule and trying to make her a Wedge Tail Eagle cousin... maybe when the memories of how frustrating she was to make have faded lol.
Thanks for looking!

*chants* Break the rule! Break the rule!
I would love to see another though. The feathers on this are amazing. I like the open mouth and that you gave her a brushable tail.

Thanks aintnobuffalo ^.^ I'm glad you like her and appreciate the comments.
Maybe I will muster up the courage to make another, and perhaps I'll try to make the wings from scratch next time lol
First though I've got two other customs waiting for their paint jobs to be finished :P

She looks fantastic! Especially the sculpting work. Can't even tell what the original base was, if I hadn't already known. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the tail. It looks strange to have the horse tail under the eagle tail. Please note, that's just my personal opinion and I'm making a hopefully respectful observation. I also like that you decided to keep her natural. The paintwork looks so nice.

What a little character! It must have taken ages to sculpt the wings and feathers.
