Title: What's the best vintage toy bargain you got?
Post by: YasuSuga on February 19, 2018, 01:50:11 PM
Hi everyone!
Mine was a gift actually, when I was like 9 my older sister gave me 2 toys from the original My Puppy Surprise from the 80's I think,it was a cat with a costume and a little bed and a puppy that if you brushed her hair it ''grow'', I remember she bought them for me because they were super cheap. They were new in their boxes and everything! Sadly, I lost all their accesories but I still have both of them.

I bought the Pretty Parlor, a Satin Slipper SS, Perm Shoppe, and the School of Dance near mint, with the near mint ponies they came with, and practically actually all the accessories for just $40!

I found 3 rare UK plush Care Bears in mint condition at Value Village for $2.99!!! And they're one of my main collections so that was amazing and saved me hundreds of dollars.  :hearts:

I also found a Paradise Estate at a children's consignment store for $8 but it's missing 2 of the buildings. Came with lots of accessories though.

Oh, I found a Greek Peachy for like $3 at the thrift store too!! That was also super random and exciting.

A while back I found a Keypers swan (the adult, can't remember her name but she had gorgeous pink and purple hair) for £2 in a charity shop. I also stumbled upon a My Little Angel lamb for £4 a while back, which was fantastic as I'd had that toy as a kid, lost it somewhere and was gutted. All I could remember was the swirly purple fleece and the wings, no brand name or anything, then 20 years down the line I found her entirely by chance! :D

Baby Gametime for free at a yard sale. I don't remember the exact details, though I probably could find it if I looked back through my posts. But it was technically thrown in for free when I was buying some other ponies.

I found a really nice condition(no damage, pink hair, minor paint scuffs) High Flying Dream Beauty Glilder at a thrift store for 50 cents.  It just happened to be the only Dream Beauty I needed from the only set of Dream Beauties that I even had any interest in.

My lavender Satin N' Lace for $1. She was thrown into the "$1 horse bin". She cleaned up very nicely, too! No major issues that I can see. I took her to a wedding and posted the pics in this thread. (http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,389868.msg1691296.html#msg1691296)

My mom once found a whole lot of ponies with pony wear for 25 cents (for the entire lot).

My best deal was when I found a copy of Pokemon Blue in a pile of McDonald's toys at a yard sale. I said, "How much for all of these?" and I ended up paying 25 cents for Pokemon Blue and the toys.
