Ever have "soft" paint?
« on: April 21, 2022, 02:50:31 PM »
I have some things I painted with a paint that gets indents if it leans against anything despite properly sealing it. They aren't tacky feeling, it's just like somehow the paint isn't hard. Is there any way to fix it because I need to pack them up and I don't want them to end up with a weird flat side from being laid down or a dent from being on top of something.

Are you sure it isn't the sealer? What did you use? If it didn't set correctly it could be keeping the paint underneath moist? I don't really know, I've never had this problem. Was it latex paint? I've used that on ponies a few times and it remains sort of pliable.

For packing them. Hmm. This might be more effort but you could put them in a box or bin upright with cardboard between them. Like an ornament box.

ive had that , I'd say its the sealant / varnish   it dose something weird to the paint and makes it  kind of  gel like underneath.

i've had it with both mod podge and liquitex varnishes.      your humidity could also be a factor living in a humid climate seems to make the issue worse
