Should we include mercari sellers anywhere?
« on: December 31, 2021, 01:46:10 PM »
Just got a package from a seller on that site that did not match the description or photos (looking now they strategically hid some breaks). I’m keeping it because I still think I can use them but I’d like to be able to warn any buyers to ask for current photos or ask questions.

Thanks for the heads up! Sadly I've heard a fair few horror stories from Mercari but I would 100% encourage anyone to ask for photos, especially if the listing seems too good to be true.

I’m just going to put the name of the seller so it’s here (Greg winters). I’m keeping the items so I can’t say if the seller would have given me any issues with returns etc. but I want buyers to be informed.

I purchased 6 enchanted kingdom horses for a good price. My issues is just that they clearly look better in the photos and one has two broken legs and is splitting down the factory seam. The description states they are not damaged on the sales page.

I did contact mercari simply to change my rating but it looks like your ratings are final so take your time before giving a good review. That said, it looks like support put in a return for me that I did not ask for so I’ll be sorting that out 🙄

It's hard to keep track of poor sellers now :(  a lot of terrible buyers really changed the landscape of how "businesses" were expected to react with customers for online sales platforms.  don't want to name names, it's pretty much a standard now.
It seems that everywhere, accountability is lacking and the customer service is really a joke.

but for collectibles, it's really hit or miss!

I had a terrible Mercari seller, too, that disguised a pony that had a chewed off leg. I still left them 3 stars but pointed out in the feedback that the lot was not as described. The seller, in turn, left me one star and threw a fit over my honest feedback. And because of that, I had at least one pony seller block me on Mercari, even though this person was the only person who left me anything less than 5 stars and they left it as retaliation. So, I don't shop Mercari much anymore.
