Sun and Moon Ponies

I'm probably one of the slowest customisers ever, has taken me all year to finish these ladies

But they are finally completed!! Sun and Moon ponies, both were originally Retro Releases picked up for cheap at Aldi, they were rehaired with a variety of different shades. Sculpted additions from polymer clay with mica powder, varnished. Eyes were hand-painted, not my best work but being almost 12 months out of practice they will suffice, lol. Need to improve my pony photography skills next!!

I know what you mean by creativity coming and going. I do a lot of papercrafts and/or traditional drawing, and for me it seems to be either or - atm I'm more into papercrafts again, and my WIP custom has been sitting untouched for several months. Last year I was busy making customs after a long pause, but this year I've only managed to complete one custom.

Love them, I love ponies that are bold one shade of colour! Beautiful work.
I know how you feel about being creative!
I get my low points too, I took almost 3 years to complete a commission.
So yeah, it can be hard at times!

I've had a WIP custom sitting for almost 2 years. The hard part is done (sculpted wings), I just need to paint and hair him and he's done but *vaguely gestures*

Ohhh I adore them! Their symbols look so beautifully sculpted! The color schemes and poses work perfectly with the themes!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who drifts in and out of customising ponies! I've got a huge study load this year, as well as full-time work and family commitments, definitely been hard to find the time and motivation to keep customising.. Got a few more ideas though so hopefully I can find the time to knock out a few more ponies before 2022

They're a beautiful pair! If that's what your pony eyes look like when you're out of practice, I can't even imagine what they look like when you've been at it for a while. Gorgeous hair on both of them, especially Moon.

I also do the drifting-in-and-out-of-art thing, but it's usually a years-long thing instead of a few months off here and there. Work and other life things have a way of pushing creative endeavors aside. I technically have two commissions that have been works in progress for a decade, so, y'know... don't beat yourself up for being slow. What matters is that you're enjoying the process when you have the time and energy for it!

Wonderful! We love some celestial/space ponies! Also yes, creativity does come in waves. Which sucks when you sort of need that creativity when it’s not there.
