I was looking at an Ebay auction, and gave up on it when it bid up too high. I only wanted it when I thought I could get it for a couple dollars. My child grabbed my phone and somehow managed to hit an automatic bid button right as the auction ended. I thought I backed out of it in time, because the 'sorry, you missed out on this item' screen flashed and I breathed a sigh of relief, but several hours later I clicked on my cart and the item is in there! For 3 times what I was willing to pay for it. Ugh. Guess I'm stuck with it, and now I realized the item isn't even complete.

Yeah even for Texas 116 is really hot. it's actually been in the high 80s low 90s with some rain here. which is cool for late June. the weather is all mixed up!

Same over here. Lots of rain, which is good because we were in a drought. During the day it's only getting into the high 80s. Lows are low 70s. We did have one day that got to 106, but the front came right after and hasn't really gone away.


..and my continuing complaint - My headache isn't going away so I guess I didn't take the medicine

I wish I could spend some time away from my parents for a while.  They're great parents and I love them but little things keep building up.   

Last night I couldn't figure out  why I seemed to be messier than usual when we were eating.  Stuff kept falling off my plate and the mustard I was using seemed to go in places where I didn't want it.   I eventually realized that the reason was because I had my mom's plate instead of mine.  She uses a plate that is smaller than a regular plate.  I tried to talk to her about  it this morning and she just said that my dad set the table.


I feel sorry for everyone that is experiencing the  intense heat.

And once again I get to cover someone else's desk shift.  I knew I should have called out this morning (girl issues) but I stupidly thought that since I was supposed to be in my office it would be fine.  But nope.  Yet again someone else can't be bothered to come in so even though I don't feel good and definitely don't want to deal with things that should have a handler, I get to do it.  Again.  Just ONCE I want to have the hours I'm supposed to have in my office to get MY work done. 

It's not like I'm working on a time-sensitive project that other people can't do or anything...Oh wait...yes I am...

My hand and shoulder hurts from gaming. I'm glad I got my gaming bug back and am having lots of fun, but dang I can't go like I used to

not really a trivial complaint but i got curious and looked up the record high temps for Texas. It turns out that the record high is 120F/~49C. which was set in Monahans, Texas in the western part of the state. west texas is desert like. Texas is really big. In Austin and San Antonio the highest ever recorded temps are 112F/~44C and 111F/~44C respectively. so 116F is really really hot. most people in Texas don't experience that kind of weather even during the summer. and texas has a reputation for being really hot. the record for Florida is 109°F/~43C. i'm really starting to get even more worried about climate change. this is not at all normal.

Again?! The tiny ants are back! They were once again crawling around the entire room where the walls meet the ceiling *shudders* Thankfully, I caught them in time before they had all found the cat food and created a dense line.

edit: My Minecraft house burned down!! Aw. I was trying to make a blacksmith area and put some lava in a stone holder but the ceiling caught fire!  I worked on that house for two days

editx2: Well it appears that the ants were coming from two directions and I only took care of one. This morning there was a bunch of tiny ants in the cat food dish and I followed the line up and around one closet, two closets, and found them coming from the craft closet. Worse? There were a few larger ants mixed in. They could have been tiny ant soldiers? But I think they were a different species. I really hope I stopped them this time.
