Basic Fun replacements for retro G1 flaws

So I've heard you can contact Basic Fun for a replacement pony if you purchase one that has flaws, and am wondering if anyone has had success with that...

Yesterday I grabbed the last Surprise at a Cracker Barrel--btw they also had Sparkler, Gusty, HT. The glitter on Surprise's symbol is a bit spotty, and she has chartreuse stains on her DS leg from her tail wrap--which I've read others here have also experienced.

Has anyone contacted Basic Fun about the chartreuse stains and/or symbol quality? If so, did BF send a replacement in response? And, were the flaws corrected in the replacement pony? I suspect even replacements will have the stains...
