It's not a leak! A couple nights ago Entertainment Tonight published an article about the G5 movie (here). Then yesterday morning Hasbro held an investor stream where they revealed more, including some of the toys shown in the OP. They've been posting about G5 on their social medias yesterday and today! So this is all official news from Hasbro themselves.

Oh!  Hah, I'm a bit out of the loop I suppose!  Glad we now know what's actually going on, I was getting tired of fake leaks left and right!

I love the body style but hate everything about the heads/faces. These examples look frightening head-on and bizarre from the side.

Yeah, that's the issue quite a few of us have.

I will add that the body style looks very weird in toy form.

The heads don't feel any less horse like to me than the G4 heads. I think G4 heads are about the same in terms of not looking like a horse. I think G5s definitely have more horse like bodies though which is nice. I think they're cute but yeah not horse heads for sure. I don't mind how the toys look from the front but I do think the 2D artwork is weird from the front, not a big fan of that. But I feel that way about most front facing MLP artwork. I think pony faces tend to work best at 3/4ths angle with official artwork from most generations.

Well I am definatly sitting out for this generation. Not a horse. The faces are even more awful then the G4.
I don't see why they need to make them more and more human like. I just don't love where the line is headed. I hope it doesn't last long.

Bring back ponies with horse like apperances!! Being back noses!!!

Eventually they will morph into centaurs...

These evoke the same “this is a knockoff with the mlp name” feeling that g2 had on me as a child the first time I saw those in a store.
They remind me of Five Surprise Unicorn squad with a dash of uncanny valley.
It's weird because some shots don't look too bad, and others are just - no!
The toys look pretty wonky, their head attachment is like g3.5 bulbous style

This new style got me wondering:

Will Hasbro now start to acknowledge the existence of G2 as a toyline (not just a PC game), since G5 bares a striking resemblance? G2 may have been a bit of a failure in the US, hence the elimination from their historical lineup, but it was successful in the rest of the world.

I mean, if G5 is all about inclusion...  :silly:

Good point, but always remember G2 was mostly popular with us Euros, so G2 is eurotrash by definition. Most Euros are white, white people don't count as diverse, case closed

I am not a fan at all personally, the articulated joints don't look good for display and I hate how un-equine like that the faces look. Also why does the boy one have shoes? It looks weird lol

But i'll see what else comes out later on.

The pink Pegasus shown on the bedset looks like she has swablu wings hastily drawn on.  Its interesting that she hasn't yet made an appearance in the screen shots or toys. Maybe she's just a minor or secondary char?

It's weird we haven't seen anything about her yet since she was shown on those bedsheets. It would be unusual for them to print a secondary character on a big piece of merchandise like that, but I'm starting to wonder now. I'd like to see more of her; I kind of liked her design.

They almost remind me of the lanyard fakes honestly. Brushable is a possible yes for me, molded hair is a no.
