First Look at G5 Toys

Earlier today I was thinking about how cool it would have been for Hasbro to do a "Sunny and her dad" playset, with Argyle and young Sunny with snap-on fake unicorn horn and wings, and some other accessories.  I think it would be a super-cute set!  And it could have perhaps...I'm not sure how to phrase this...given a prompting for dads to play ponies with their daughters?  But maybe it was seen as potentially too sad, since her dad seems to have died at some point before the main storyline.    Just something I thought of that I personally would have enjoyed.  I wonder if there will be filly and colt toys released in the future.  Only time will tell!

Aww, that's a wonderful idea I want a toy of Alphabittle as well. ALL the dad ponies! (well I guess AB isn't really a dad, but he's shaped like one )

Hopefully they do include more characters as the series goes on. The idea of dad and daughter set is very cute.
I hope now that they know that people do enjoy these new characters they will make more toys of them.

Remember in G3 when a couple "big sister and little sister" sets came out and we all wondered why Hasbro didn't just do mom and baby sets like they did in the 80's?

This lack in G3 is why I headcanon G3 adultss to be a little younger than G1 adults. My Celebration Castle is a college

I'm not sure. They tried that concept with MH and it kind of didn't work out so well (admittedly different emphasis on that toy line but still).

I guess maybe if they did a film that focused more on the connection between Sunny and her Dad, then that would be the time for that kind of a release? I think he'd need a bigger release than that.

Can see a set with the pegasus royals though. That seems plausible.

Maybe I'm mistaken and he wasn't actually part of that set...I remember in the picture he had shoes and looked like the same type of figure as the others, but perhaps he is actually part of a set we haven't seen yet.

Your not wrong,  but you know how shoddy Hasbro's distribution is under normal circumstances.

Yep, that set exists at least in stock photos! Just not on the poster that I got from the other Crystal Adventure sets. I’m wondering if maybe he will be part of a wave 2 shipment along with more Crystal Adventure Izzys once manufacturing and shipping delays catch up. That Izzy is pretty impossible to find in stores here, either due to her being extremely popular or under-manufactured and delayed, or just not shipped with the other girls. All we have are Sunny, Zipp and Pipp galore.

Oh gosh, Hitch comes with the little seagull and crab from the movie!? Oh man I might have to get the set just for them, they're adorable!

Found the 8" version of Izzy and Sunny at Dollar General. I was only going to get Izzy but the lady brought up that they had a BOGO on toys still going.... so I got both lol
