Removing the tail of a dance and prance pony?

Hello everyone,

A while ago, I got a dance and prance Swinger. Her hair is discoloured and partly removed.

I can't find a good match for the colour her hair is now, so I was wondering if there was a way to remove and replace with the new colour.

It's dark out here now, so pictures won't be there until tomorrow.

If you know how to remove the tail, or a colour match for her hair, please let me know.
