I would consider Lyra more on the aqua side of the green equation than "green"...

But G1 didn't seem to have problems selling green ponies :/ And G3 did have Minty among others. It may just be a G4 thing (but Sandbar is green isn't he?).

I was talking about the green thing the other day! Apparently it's a problem with toys in general, not just MLPs, but I wonder why that is? :s I get why there aren't many grey/brown/black ponies, for example (dull colours, not as flashy as red/blue/etc), but green... I really don't see why that wouldn't be popular? Weird.

I agree Lyra's more of a minty blue-green than green. Minty's not too different a colour, either... I can't think of many non-Nirvana, definitely-green G1s. Let's see, Baby Leaper, Baby Splash, TAF Buttons (sorta yellowy but close enough), Baby Frosting (same), Tootsie, Cool Breeze, Hip Hop, Mimic, Minty.. uhh I think one of the Sparkles was green? Most of the 'green' ponies are really blue-green :s It's weird.

The actual brushable is more yellow, but has green hair. I didn't know he was supposed to be green until you said that and I looked him up, actually- and I have him, lol!

I think Lyra is absolutely within the blue green color family (if you look at a traditional color wheel).

If people lump yellow-green ponies as "green", then it's fair enough to consider blue-green ponies as green as well. Both of those are tertiary colors on a standard color wheel.

I think it's also hard to "talk" colors, because we all kind of see color a different way. Some of us see more colors then others, or culture can influence our interpretation.

That and there are so many variations of any color.  Human eyes can actually detect more greens than any other color.

In a turn that doesn't surprise anyone, the movie's distribution has been picked up from Paramount by Netflix for worldwide distribution ASIDE from China, where eOne is doin' that.

Paramount Pictures was originally set to distribute the film, which had been scheduled to open in theaters on Sept. 24, 2021. Hasbro’s entertainment studio Entertainment One produced the movie and will retain distribution rights in China.

Though the exact release date is unclear, “My Little Pony” is expected to land on Netflix later this year.

And directors:

Robb Cullen and Jose Ucha directed the upcoming installment with Mark Fattibene. Cecil Kramer and Peter Lewis served as producers.

I tried to find the directors past filmography and didn't see much of interest.

I guess it makes sense on netflix, since EQG and such were on there as well. Probably still are.

I'm ok with it being netflix, because at least netflix is global.
