Great british baking show
« on: November 07, 2020, 05:07:25 PM »
I have a question.  Do you guys think the great British Baking Show is tricking us or pretending that filming takes place over more than one day?
They label each week a specific challenge, and they pretend to be returning to the tent after a day, chatting about what happened yesterday etc, but they are all wearing the same clothing.
This happens each week, always wearing the same clothing but it's supposedly the next day.
I'm wondering if each "week" is all filmed on one day.

But then, on a recent 80's Week, a contestant is soaked in sweat because it was a hot day.  But she returns to the tent dry.  Maybe the do come back in a day, but wear the same clothes?

Just an odd observation I made.

I've never seen it, so I don't know. It's possible.

I do know the opposite happens. Where reality shows piece together scenes/commentary that are days apart... even weeks apart. People have contracts to not change their hair styles, etc.

I avoid this show at all costs because it always gives me cravings for completely delicious but unhealthy things

It's possible stuff is recorded on the same day, especially if it's being recorded at the moment. There are a lot of restrictions over here right now on various things. But it's not uncommon to do that - for example, Strictly Come Dancing has a Sunday results show but it is recorded on the Saturday evening and aired on the Sunday. Everyone kind of knows that though.

I am not sure it's scripted since it's a contest. But it doesn't mean they actually film day by day.

I am assuming I know which show you mean since we call it Bake Off. I also don't watch it - cooking is not my thing - but I have seen odd bits and pieces when away on holiday.
