Most recently, I got a whole bunch of G3s! I bought a lot in order to get Lulabelle, and she came with Puzzlemint, Magic Marigold and a pony who I can't seem to idenfity - she's really intense pink with yellow hair, glitter on her forehead and a floral symbol. They need a good clean before I can display them. (Well, the Mystery Pink Pony is being rehomed in the new year, but the rest are joining my herd once they're clean.)

Sounds like Forsythia. She's one of my childhood ponies I've yet to reclaim, and she's sooo pretty. I never played with her as a kid because I didn't know her name. Is she spoken for?

1. What got you into collecting MLP? I found a picture of a Pyramid Head pony custom (from the game Silent Hill 2) and I thought it was the coolest thing. After I did some searching I discovered the world of customs and found the Arena. At first, I was only interested in custom ponies but I learned about the Big Brothers and so many others I'd never heard of. My first collection pony was Wigwam and I've been collecting ever since

2. Did you like MLP as a child? Actually, no. Well, I liked them but I only had a few of them. My favorite toy lines were Littlest Pet Shop and Puppy in my Pocket.

3. What generations do you collect? All of them, even G3.5

4. Who is your favorite pony? Raincurl!

5. Who was your first pony? Baby Firefly. She was a gift from my grandmother

6. Who was the last pony you got? Dutch Diary

7. What is your favorite generation? G1

8. What is your favorite piece of media? (Any of the shows, comics, back cards, ect) I've not seen a lot of it, but I remember watching RAMC as a kid.

9. What is your favorite pose? Tootsie

10. Do you own any customs / have you made one? Oh yes. I have around 65 customs made by others and I've made a whole bunch. I should count how many.

11. Who is your biggest pony? Smallest? I have a Rainbow Dash pillow pet, if she counts. The smallest would probably be, hmm... I have a hard plastic Trixie on a little stand. She's pretty small.

12. How many ponies do you have in your collection? 70 or so?

13. How is your collection displayed? It's in boxes right now but it used to be on shelves.

14. What is your least favorite pose? Quackers

15. What is your dream collection like? All the orange ponies!

16. What was your biggest pony purchase (in terms of how many items)? When I first got into customs I bought a lot of bait lots, but I think the biggest was buying ponies from someone who stopped making customs. I think I bought around 30 plus some other supplies.

17. What is your favorite part about collecting? Looking at them!

19. What flaw(s) can you not stand? Cut hair since I tend to rehair any collection pony with bad hair.

20. How complete is your collection? Not counting Nirvanas, fairly close! I only collect orange (and sometimes yellow... and some others, lol) ponies, plus I have a Raincurl army. If we're counting all the ponies available, then not very. There are several expensive orange Nirvana that I probably will never have (like the piggy pony and some Greeks)

I loved the G1 cartoon as a kid and last year I decided to finally start buying the toys featured in it.

2. Did you like MLP as a child?

Yeah, but only the cartoon. We didn't have ponies at home.

G1 for now, but I don't rule out the possibility of getting into G3 and maybe even G2 in the future.

4. Who is your favorite pony?

Wind Whistler.

Fizzy.

They're all the same size.

Six.

I keep them hidden in the same cupboard where my DVDs and CDs are.

Probably the Bubbles pose.

I'm not planning to have a huge collection anyway due to limited space and funds, for now I'd just like to buy a few more some day.

I always buy one at a time.

Owning a physical manifestation of the ponies I loved as a kid.

MLP Arena.

19. What flaw(s) can you not stand?

Cut hair, missing hair plugs, visible damage to eyes/symbols, hair frizzled beyond repair, significant head/body discoloration etc.

20. How complete is your collection?

I don't have any target collection size, I just decide to expand it when I find a pony I like, so one could say it is always complete.

I was going through a hard time. MLP was a big and important part of my life but early in this difficult time it evolved into collecting.

Yes I did, I never grew out of them!

Biggest pony is a plush Sweetsong, smallest pony is a mummy charm

I don't know the exact number but it's close to 900

13. How is your collection displayed?
It isn't. I have few ponies standing here and there and a stack of transparent plastic boxes full of ponies standing by my bed but the rest are still in boxes from when I moved. I'm going to buy a big cupboard to have them in.

14. What is your least favorite pose?
The poses of Moondancer and Silver Lining, the G3.5 poses of Pinkie Pie and Scootaloo (it's the hindlegs) and the G4 reboot poses

15. What is your dream collection like?
Every pony and playset I have ever wanted in pristine condition with all backcards, boxes, accessories and pamphlets

16. What was your biggest pony purchase (in terms of how many items)?
I'm not sure. I have on several occations bought lots with 20+ ponies but often there have been doubles and/or fakies and non-MLP items included. I did a combined buy/trade many years ago where I got 20 something G1 ponies that were all new ponies for my own collection.

17. What is your favorite part about collecting?
Getting a pony I really want. Finding ponies "in the wild". Also the world I have created around my ponies but I had that before I started collecting.

18. What is your favorite pony website?
MLP Arena is the only pony site I really visit these days but I love the personal part of Ponyland Press.

19. What flaw(s) can you not stand?
Stickyness! Major haircuts, damaged eyes, major frizz

20. How complete is your collection?
I'm not looking to get all ponies ever made just the ones I like. There are still quite a few ponies I want so it's not complete.

15) Big and pretending that money were no object, it would include the Glow n Shows, half the Mountain Boys, 2 Seaside babies, fully outfitted Roller Skates,  and some nirvanas.

16) Not purchased exactly, but I did a massive trade a couple years ago with about 12 or 13 ponies.

I've  been collecting on and off since childhood, so I guess the first pony I received as a small girl must have triggered it.

2. Did you like MLP as a child?

Yes, definitely. My childhood ponies must have had a big impact on me, or I wouldn't still be collecting.

G1 (childhood generation) and G3, with a focus on G1.

4. Who is your favourite pony?

Judging by the looks: Ice Crystal
For sentimental reasons: my childhood ponies Firefly, Heart Throb and Bow Tie (all Italy)

I can't remember as it's such a long time ago and I was only 5 or 6 years old at the time, it must have been either Peachy, Applejack or Majesty

Baby Dancing Butterflies, I received her only this week

Definitely G1

Nothing really, I'm not into MLP merch and I don't collect anything apart from the ponies themselves, but I really like G1 backcards.

Bow Tie Pose and Firefly Pose

10. Do you own any customs / have you made one?

I own a whole Ice Crystal custom family (mummy, baby brother, baby sister and a newborn) and a Halloween custom. I've never made any customs myself.

11. Who is your biggest pony? Smallest?

Biggest pony: Decorating Star Catcher
Smallest pony: world's smallest MLP (I have all of them), from the regular releases it's probably my two Teeny Weeny Ponies, Little Honey Pie and Little Rattles.

204 (including customs, not counting duplicate ponies that are for sale/trade)

13. How is your collection displayed?

In a glass display cabinet

14. What is your least favourite pose?

G1: Whizzer Pose

More or less how it is now, but I'm still missing a few ponies.

Probably the most recent trade with user Princess Mermicorn.  I got a box full of pony goodness.

19. What flaw(s) can you not stand?

All of them really. As there are always high postage costs involved in my purchases, I need to be picky. The worst for me are haircuts, non-removable stains and head/body mismatches.

20. How complete is your collection?

Not even remotely complete in terms of all the ponies ever released, as I only collect G1 and G3, and I only buy ponies I like. About 90% complete in terms of all ponies I intend to own.

Me talking to a friend about playing with ponies as children, and then the day after looking for and finding my childhood ponies + IDing them on DreamValley... and finding a whole world of just pure awesomeness.

2. Did you like MLP as a child?
yes! I loved ponies as a child, and had a fair few fakies and some real MLPs

3. What generations do you collect?
1, 2, 3, 4.5 (and I buy what g3.5 and g4/reboot I can find in 2nd hand shops. I don't actively collect but I don't pass them up!)

4. Who is your favorite pony?
g1 - Lemon Drop
g3 - Minty!

g4reboot Twilight sparkle, in a carry bag, from a 2nd hand shop. don't know what release it is, but she looks happy ^^'

oh dear.. I love MLP tales. it's cute and very time piece-y. Other than that I adore the g2 backcards. A Very minty Xmas is at the top of my fav xmas movies, even above TNBC.  but really, most of it goes, I'm not overly fussed with FiM tho. I'm intrigued by the manga but have yet to read it.

I adore Collector's Pose. Like, a crazy amount.

Yes! I don't have a bunch, but I do have a couple made by other people, and I used to be very into making customs. Some day I'll pick it back up again

Biggest = My Pretty Pony (brown) if we don't count plushies, I have a couple OG BAB g4 ponies. (no Minty, boo ;A;) smallest are my small collection of petite ponies

oof, not counted in a good while. It's grown a bunch this year. 300+, but not sure by how much.

Two (overcrowded) Detolf cases by my side of our bed. They need more space, but we'll get there at some point.

Probably Strawberry Reef's pose (g3). It's very broken-neck-y.

All. Of. The. g2s.
Otherwise, just.. nicely displayed ponies. preferably including Ice Crystal. And all the Lemon Drops and collector's pose army poniesget their very own case.

Oh... I've never really bought lots. It might actually be last week's thrift haul of 7 g3s in one go + 2 g4/reboots the day after. I tend to buy 1-3 at the same time, tops.

17. What is your favorite part about collecting?
Spa, photo, smell the pony&admire. All the friendly faces. And ofc the rush of finding ponies while thrifting

MLPArena, ofc ^^ All of my old faves are gone (dreamvalley, g3mlp.com, intothesea and aien hime's g2 page ;A; ) but there are some amazing alternatives these days like lavender lagoon, strawberry reef and ofc MLW

19. What flaw(s) can you not stand?
Haircuts. on a thrifted pony, it's ok, I'll do something about it, but I avoid intentionally buying ponies with haircuts, and also cuts/chew makrs in the plastic. Also not a huge fan of pen marks. I'm quite picky honestly. Pen marks you can fade, sure (I once kept a baby brother apple delight in a window for 5 years wrapped in tissue to fade some highlighter lipstick.. good as new now! but... patience. or forgetfulness... it helps) but I'd rather not.
I do save most 2nd hand shop older-than-g4-pponies tho.

20. How complete is your collection?
Far from. but I'm not rushing anything. I used to want to complete things, and it was quite stressful. It bugs me that I used to have a complete set of TEs and now I'm missing a Whizzer (mail issues with a swap, and I ended up sending mine, thinking I'd just get a new one the next month... it's been what, 2½ years? xD ) but other than that I'm nowadays mostly enjoying the occasional intentional buy and 2ndhandshop find, taking it one pony at a time kind of. I don't know what complete is for me. I enjoy my collection as is, and I enjoy it when it's growing too. The one think I stay away from is selling _anything_. I've solf odd big chunks several times and regretted it every time.
But ramble, sorry. Far from complete, but it's ok. We'll get there, and know when we know, sort of thing

1. What got you into collecting MLP?
Finding three G1s at an antique mall! I thought they were so cute, and I knew they existed from liking MLP as a kid but I had never seen them in person (...and I remember thinking they were ugly as a kid, oh how things change xD) I ID'd them who knows how, stumbled upon the Arena and the Preservation Project, and haven't looked back since.

2. Did you like MLP as a child?
Yes! Very much so.

3. What generations do you collect?
Only G1

4. Who is your favorite pony?
Starshine/Sternenglanz (it's an even tie between versions, honestly). The rest of the German rainbows, Blueberry Baskets, Moonstone, and a few others are very special to me as well.

5. Who was your first pony?
No idea who was my first when I was a kid, and they've all been lost to time anyways, haha. My first G1s were DJ, Magic Star, and blue Baby Ember though

6. Who was the last pony you got?
Oh goodness, I don't actually remember! I want to say Stranger Things Applejack? Or 35th anniversary Starshine? I haven't bought a pony in a long time.

7. What is your favorite generation?
G1, all the way!

I'm going to have to go with backcards. I do love the G1 animated stuffs, but they just aren't my favorite. The fact file is probably up there too.

Maybe Bowtie's pose? It really depends on the day, haha.

I don't own any, actually! I made a McDonald's G4 Blueberry Baskets but idk if she really counts. Plus I have no idea where she went or if she's even in my house anymore.

Biggest is definitely my pink MPP. She's huge! To me at least. Smallest? I think it might be a Firefly on top of a stamp cap/top. She is pretty small.

MLPMerch says 79 in my checklist... with doubles and a few I haven't checked off there yet I'd say it's around 85 or a little lower.

13. How is your collection displayed?
On top of my dresser in my closet Nice and easy to shut the door and seal them away from people, haha. I made some foam core risers back in March too.

14. What is your least favorite pose?
Maybe Milky Way's? It's the only one that actually stops me from liking a pony.

15. What is your dream collection like?
Lots of minty, minty G1s with perfect factory curls and perfect blush. Lots of backcards, pamphlets, and brochures too...

I got a lot off of Craigslist with over 100 ponies! Plus playsets! It was A LOT.

17. What is your favorite part about collecting?
The community, definitely, but also working on my collection! Restoring, cleaning, styling, arranging displays...

Other than this one... probably the Wiki. Despite it's flaws, it is very comprehensive. And Taf's site!

19. What flaw(s) can you not stand?
I've gotten more picky over the years. Head/body mismatch, large stains and age spots, large haircuts, missing chunks or chewed bits, regrind, rust stains, and I haven't come across mold yet and I would like that to remain that way!

20. How complete is your collection?
In terms of what's on my wishlist, about half I think? I'm not actively buying though, and I'm satisfied with what I have, so it's 'complete' for now

I don't know! I've always had ponies, but I was also a horse girl as a kid.

Yep! G2 was my first, and I played with fakies until G3's release.

All gens! Even G3.5 and G4.5/PL.

As a kid? I don't know... But I've always felt strongly about Meadowbrook!

Sundance/Sky Skimmer/Ivy/Moonshadow

Hmm... G3 Cotton Candy when I bought the Cafe MIB... all the way back in February!

Technically BAB Minty, but as for actual ponies, I guess talking Celestia. EDIT: Oops, forgot the smallest. World's Smallest Minty and Firefly. Which are about the same size as a Petite Pony, minus the stand.

Oh I don't know, definitely over 300.

Shoved in the TV stand.

Dancing Butterflies probably.

*thinking emoji* I don't know! When I started collecting as an adult I had a more "collect them all" mentality but now I'm picking up what I like. I wish I had a better display, though. And more accessories and playsets...

I don't buy lots often, but I bought one of 25 or so Ponyvilles last year. Maybe that was my biggest purchase in terms of items? In terms of size and price, definitely Paradise Estate.

Discoloration of any kind. Age spots, regrind, etc. At least a haircut can be hidden or a pony can be rehaired, and you can touch up paint on a scuffed eye or symbol. Nothing you can do about brown spots.

20. How complete is your collection?
Incomplete! I'm slowing down to to lack of space, but also the shift of me only buying what I like. I'll always be buying ponies probably, as long as there's a pony I like.

I had mlp as a kid (G1). When I had my own children, my childhood herd came back out of storage... Downhill from there!

They were my favourite toy.

I was a G1 traditionalist. But then the G3 bug bit me. And I now confess to owing a few G4.... BUT I am still a G1 girl at heart.

Generally not a big fan of customs and re-hairs. But I do have two delightful Isabella Klein customs which are pretty special in my collection.

My 'My Pretty Pony'. I love that hulky piece of plastic! And my petites and charms, of course!

Geez... if I count up all the ponies, G1 plush, petites, charms and blind bags, it's gone over 1000 now...

Everything is in storage....

Bunnyhop pose? And pretty much every beddy bye eye pose. As if their eyes weren't bad enough!

15. What is your dream collection like?
A complete US and Euro release G1 collection. Just the ponies. I'd worry about accessories, backcards and ponywear later!

16. What was your biggest pony purchase (in terms of how many items)?
I got a couple of great lots off ebay back in the day. Might have had around 50-70 G1s in one lot. That was a good long while ago though, several years back.

Scoring a great buy now. Haven't had that thrill in forever

The Arena has always my forum home, although my activeness has dropped along with my collecting. I use two or three reference sites with regularity - prob mylittlewiki the most.

19. What flaw(s) can you not stand?
Haircuts. And I also dislike bad head/body mismatches and paint loss.

20. How complete is your collection?
I'd say 2/3 of the way to my dream goal. But with so many ponies out of reach for me financially, the grinding halt for me with int. shipping and the competitiveness in my country it's unlikely that will ever happen.

I'd always liked MLPs, had several here and there, loved looking at customs, etc, but I didn't make the leap to "proper" collecting until by chance, I found a vintage toy shop selling MLPs, and that just lit a fire in me and I've been collecting ever since!

atm all except G3.5 and G4.5... they don't interest me BUT never say never, I guess!

G2 Ivy is my absolute #1 favourite, I also really love Nachtlicht, Pumpkin Tart, Trixie Lulamoon, all the boys, Cotton Candy seems to be sneaking her way into my faves, Pinkie Pie (don't care for her cartoon selves, but *looks at semi-unintentional G3/G4 army* I think she deserves a mention)... sooo many...

honestly no idea! plus it depends how you count it. Ivy's the one I "count" as my first. Pony Bride was the one that gave me the collecting bug.

oooh hmm... depends if you count plushies or not... counting those, I guess the BAB plushies I have... not counting those... hm. which are bigger, G3 Styling Size or the G4zillas? cause that's my biggest.
Smallest, uh, no idea honestly I have a lot of obscure tiny G4 stuff (Kinder Surprise, Chupa Chups, etc). really need to get them all together and do a size comparison sometime.. if I had to guess, my money's on the first set of Chupas being the smallest in my herd! but like I said, I'd have to check before I could say for certain.

~883 (give or take some, my spreadsheet's set up in a way that makes it difficult to get an exact number at a glance)

I don't like articulated ponies in general. not a fan of the BBE baby earth pony pose - even without the BBEs, it just doesn't look *right* somehow... Also no First Tooths for me, thanks! Well, except Baby Cat. She's the exception. though the FT *poses* don't actually bother me, I think they're cute, it's just the tooth I don't like. It just looks silly...
for G3, the Beachberry pose is kind of hit-or-miss for me. sometimes it looks fine, other times (Midnight Dream) the legs look kind of stumpy and weird? but other than that, I don't think I really have a least favourite pose... there's ones I like more than others, but I like most of them in general

15. What is your dream collection like?
Hmm... Well, I just collect ponies that I like, so there's no end goal... perhaps a collection that'd shelve and organize itself >P nah, specific goals I have are an army of Divas (nearly there!), all the G2 and G3 babies, and all the G1 boy ponies (at least the US/UK ones - not a Nirvana person so no Gustavo for me). trying to complete the Loving Family Ponies... and oh, to have a complete Family Friends and Family Babies set...

16. What was your biggest pony purchase (in terms of how many items)?
Ooohhh... prolly either a G3 lot I got years ago, or a lot of G3 babies. not sure off-hand how many were in either lot - some were doubles, etc, so they're not listed in my spreadsheet... hm, how about the G4 Busy Books? they've got 11/12 ponies each... let's say those.

Man idk, I've just always collected stuff. I love coming up with pony families and such, let's go with that.

hmmm I'm pretty picky... huge hair cuts are a big dealbreaker (I don't mind a small trim, but if it's a noticeable cut, no thanks), pen marks (yeah they can be faded, but I'm lazy/impatient/etc. don't mind them too much if they're under hooves though, since those aren't visible unless you look for them), regrind/pindot/etc... I try and avoid head/body mismatch, though it's impossible for some ponies (lookin' at you, Feathermay!).

20. How complete is your collection?
Collections are never complete when you collect all (well, most) gens and the toys are still in production!

Most recently, I got a whole bunch of G3s! I bought a lot in order to get Lulabelle, and she came with Puzzlemint, Magic Marigold and a pony who I can't seem to idenfity - she's really intense pink with yellow hair, glitter on her forehead and a floral symbol. They need a good clean before I can display them. (Well, the Mystery Pink Pony is being rehomed in the new year, but the rest are joining my herd once they're clean.)

Sounds like Forsythia. She's one of my childhood ponies I've yet to reclaim, and she's sooo pretty. I never played with her as a kid because I didn't know her name. Is she spoken for?
