I think OP meant a reboot in the sense of same franchise name but completely different toys, line, concept etc. And redo as in a reboot based on a previous gen characters/location/toys...whatever.
Ah, that makes more sense. Still, the fandom terminology can get a bit murky in those areas...
This might be a hot take, but I just don’t feel like MLP as a whole has the kind of enduring or iconic characters needed to make a “redo” viable or desirable. G4 might have changed that a bit with its focus on a core cast, but even so it seems like the general idea of MLP (rainbow fantasy ponies with pictures on their flanks) is more recognizable and timeless than any specific character. In short, I feel like MLP will always be better off for refreshing the cast and overall feel of the brand to reflect the current market.
