Can you sunfade Baby Nightsong?
« on: October 18, 2020, 09:00:21 AM »
I recently acquired a starlight Baby Nightsong with ink marks on her, will it be safe to sunfade her? Thanks!

I think it's a batch issue thing with white plastic, yeah? I would just keep an eye on her. If the ink marks are already pretty obtrusive, I feel like it may be worth a shot. I did sunfade a Baby Valentine successfully, although if it's the sweaty ponies I wonder how that plastic would fare.

If her hair is still pink, you may want to take some extreme action to protect that.

I am not sure about her body type with fading and such...but the hair and the tinsel would be my concern.

She has a hair cut and faded hair so no worries about the pink hair and tinsel, haha! I'll pop her in my window and keep and eye on her and hope she doesn't burn!

I’d think twice about sunfading that one.  I have a Baby Nightsong that has obvious light damage all over one side if her body. It’s like she got sun burnt.  It’s an odd brownish tinge over parts of her body and face. I’ve never seen anything like that on a pony, but the general pattern is similar to what I’ve seen on other toys that got exposed to the wrong kind of light over time.  She arrived like that, so I don’t know exactly how she ended up in that state or how long it took for her to get like that, but I always assumed that her shiny coating didn’t react well to some kind of light source.

Yeah, I don't think much experimentation or testing has been done with the ponies with that coating. It may be risky :/
