How is Beautiful Bows’ hair supposed to sit?
« on: October 06, 2020, 12:59:56 PM »
Hi everyone,
I can’t figure out Beautiful Bows’ hair! She has her usual mane, then her fringe, and then a fringe shaped (horizontal) long bit under her fringe. It looks funny being put around her ear, but it hangs in her face otherwise! Was it originally pulled back through her fringe into the rest of her mane, or was it always supposed to be in her eyes?
Many thanks! She doesn’t have the twisty bits anymore so I don’t have anything to do with this silly bit of hair
Xx

Oh I never even realised they're rooted that way, and Bangles was my childhood pony! The effect seems to be more pronounced in my Beatiful Bows' hair, though. So yeah, the long bits are meant to be pulled back between the fringe plugs. I suppose the reason for this zig-zag style pattern is that they wanted to prevent a bald spot between the fringe and the main part of the mane - if you have any early G4 mane 6 brushables you'll know what I mean. :D

I don't have a picture at hand but I can add one later if needed.

I think the fringe & the long bit are thatched together. I'm sure there are videos on how to thatch a part in a doll's hair.

Yeah, the fringes are rooted behind the hair, which is a bit crazy, it comes through the hair that is longer which should go behind. It's quite hard to get it to lie back how it originally did. It's a shame she's missing the twisties, because they are absolutely brilliant.

I don't know if this is clear enough but this is how I resolved the problem xD. Even without twisties you might be able to separate and braid the section to keep it out of her fringe.
