Best way to sell rare ponies

Hey gang, I haven’t been active here in over 10 years.  Growing kid years, you know how it goes.  I use to be an active collector, going to conventions and getting lots of exclusive/rare ponies.  Now that the girls are older we’re all ready to start parting with the ponies.  The real question is how?!  There’s eBay, Facebook pages, here and so much more.   eBay seems to get great results but the fees are high.  Then there’s Facebook pages but can you trust the payments?  I see people sell here and I use to buy a ton off this site but is it still as safe as it use to be?  I have some very rare ponies I want to find good homes for but wouldn’t mind getting their full value.  True ethical dilemma here.  This was always my go to pony love place. 💗 Suggestions?

Ebay will be your best hope for reaching a broad audience (and thus getting a good price). The fees are icky, but sometimes worth it. Ebay is also pretty good about dealing with scam artists and other problems.

Facebook is a popular option nowadays, but there are a lot of horror stories. I avoid it like the plague, personally.

There are still a healthy number of people who buy and sell here, but it may take a long time for some things to move.

I tend to make a sales thread here while simultaneously listing the items on Ebay with BiN and best offer options. Good luck with whatever you decide!

For the most part, I sell my stuff on ebay. I'm ok with the fee because I like the things that come along with the service. I'll lower my prices if I'm selling not on ebay, to make them more appealing.

I don't use facebook, so I can't speak for that.. but I know a looot of stuff gets sold there these days.

I definitely prefer to sell here. You don't reach as broad an audience but it's free of fees and very safe. I usually try to sell here first, and if I don't get any takers for a while, I move to eBay as a second choice.

This is what I would suggest. The fees are 10%+Paypal's fee, so most eBay prices account for the 10%.
I'm not familiar with Facebook pages, but I think one of the trappings of people being able to create groups is that it's easier for scammers to infiltrate, whereas they've been banned from here already. I know there is one large selling/trading group on Facebook but there are also a ton of little ones.

The best way to sell a rare pony, the really best way, is to send me a PM and say, Gator, you're a cool dude, I'm gonna let you buy this pony really cheap, cause you're just awesome.

depending on rare please at least set up a page here if you are considering highest/best offer

than yep, seems alot of collectors have also moved over to FB groups

I would say ebay and mercari last as to all the fees associated unless you don't get any of your desired amounts for your stuff either here thru the boards or thru FB

Feedback system here is still in use. MLPTP still is in business too. I'd try here before ebay or facebook, we're a bit more legitimate group of buyers.
