how much would you charge for a full set of rainbow ponies (1st set)?

Typically I would give a discount for multiple, but since it's a complete set I'm not sure if I should give a typical discount. Or do I charge more for complete sets?

I'm also about to have a couple of other complete sets for sale, so it be nice to know the general rule of thumb here.

Depends on condition! I value them at 5-10 in my head each, so I think $50 or $60 for a full set is fair, higher if better condition or with accessories.

Yep, you thrift one here, get another in a lot there...
Besides, increasing the price to be more expensive than if you were to sell them individually makes no sense. It's the other way around, something like guaranteeing your inventory will all sell at once. Discount for bulk, y'know?

Agree...it wouldn't be as much fun to buy an entire set all at once, it actually would feel like cheating a little bit! I have so many pony sets that I only need that one last pony to complete the set, and it makes the hunt for that last pony so much sweeter when you finally find it!

If I saw a complete set for sale, I'd mentally do the math and figure out the price per pony, and then say, nah, I can buy them cheaper individually for that, plus figure in that I'd likely have a couple duplicates to unload, because most collectors probably already have at least a couple of these ponies. But maybe if I got a discount by buying the set and it was like I got one pony free by buying 5, I'd be more likely to consider it.

Most people are not looking for the complete set anyway. Some people might, but the chances are that people who buy a complete set are really only looking for 2 or 3 from that set and then they have doubles they need to clear. Depending on the set it can put people off...

I mean, you'd buy a complete set of Mountain Boys if you needed 2 or 3 and the price was right because reselling them would offset the price you paid. But with a more common set that had a global release like the y2 rainbow ponies...it would be more difficult to clear those doubles.

I think you'd be better selling them individually but all at the same time, and offer someone a discount if they buy all six. I think your instinct for multiple = discount is right when it comes to a more common set like this (but it may not apply to all sets, it really depends on how htf they are and whether the resale value of any duplicates in the set is realistic.)

...If the ponies all had backcards...(well that maybe just me), or if they had all their accessories as well, then you'd have a good reason to make a higher price. Rainbow 1st sets have a brush, a comb, a ribbon and a sticker and obtaining all of those individually can be a pain.

To be honest, it's difficult to move the first few years of common G1's. I would agree,  individually sold is best.
