Getting back on the creative horse!

Okay, so I haven't been creating much for quite a while now, whether writing, photography or drawing, and it took a lot of reflection to work out why I hadn't felt like creating anything, but I've gotten to the bottom of that now, and worked out how to move forward. So from here, my aim is to get back into doing art in various forms by taking small, realistic steps. At the bare minimum, I'm aiming for just one drawing a week.

Already cheated on my goal because I haven't drawn anything this week, due to having too much going on, but from last week, here's a quick sketch of my ponysona, Petrichor. She's meant to be a sort of faded sage green with dark grey points and slate-coloured hair, but getting those particular shades with my watercolours just wasn't happening at the time, so she's in greyscale with a sort of tree-bark pattern for now.

For this week, I decided to take it easy and do a concept sketch for the reworked version of my old zine. The previous art style took ages and was pretty stressful to do, whereas doing it with watercolours is much more enjoyable, it's very easy to get into a groove with them. This chap's colour scheme was borrowed from a collared dove, as they're one of my favourite birds.

@Dragglereeka That is a good question! I haven't gotten very far with Petrichor's background yet, but she probably won't have any magical powers. I tried a magical theme with my old ponysona and couldn't settle on any ideas I actually liked!

Well, my creative output hasn't exactly been astounding for the past couple of weeks; writing and getting creative in the kitchen have been more successful for me than drawing. For this week, I managed a bit of concept art for a long-standing project, upon which most of my writing has been focussed lately. So for now, here's a mythical hare, and hopefully next week will be better.

I'm not sure if photography and culinary efforts also come under arts and crafts, but just in case they do, here's a bonus homemade mint chocolate mousse as well, lightly dusted with edible glitter for a little autumnal glamour.
