Such a hard question!!!!!

TAFs are gorgeous & I wish the TAF Babies had been available to a wider portion of the globe...

The originals (I called them that as well Taffeta, & yep I've seen your posts on the lack of international representation in polls) have that simple, classic, elegance about them & bring out the nostalgia whenever they show up. Like they're stepping out of the pages of the comics & annuals.

Brush & Grows & PB&Gs were the first Ponies to have extra-long hair & I love that.

TEs have a special place in my heart as well as Rainbow Ponies

Newborns (twin or otherwise) are the ultimate in cute!!! I see their faces & am just AWWWW!!!

Rocking Beats wi their bright colours, along wi Tropical Ponies (& Paradise Babies) are all stunning & I'm a big fan of bright colours.

Mountain Boys will always be special to everybody who owned at least one as a youngster (I had two in the old collection)

Sunshine Ponies & Seaside Baby Ponies always make me think of summers at the beach.

The dragons wi the Princess Ponies were utterly precious!!! While the princesses themselves were so glamorous.

And there are so many more... I just can't do it...
My Mascots (so far): Twisty Tail, G2 Trixiebelle, Starcatcher, Twilight Sparkle. All variants & pictures of these are appreciated. Piccies courtesy of Griffin, Blumiere, Littlebabyribbon, & Starscout

A difficult question indeed.

I like the TE ponies for their eyes and colours.
I have almost a complete set of rainbow ponies which I love.

I'm very keen of the flutter ponies. Their faces are so cute.

I feel like we should mention the big brothers as well. They are so iconic.

What a choice! I don't know if I can do it.
Um....Wingers, Mountain Boys, Sweet Talkin' ponies, Play n Care babies, Baby Ballerinas....oh and Twinkle Eyes! And the Movie Star ponies (Wind Whistler! Gusty! Yay!). And the Tales characters. Okay, let's just say I like all G1 ponies!

I love the earliest, non-gimmick ponies, unicorns, pegasis and baby ponies first.  Then, it's Rainbow Ponies, Twice-as-Fancy and Newborn Ponies.  I also rather like so-soft ponies but that's a new thing for me.

That's funny, I never considered Big Brothers as iconic.  More of an add-on.  They were introduced late-ish and not used in merch, advertising or as the face of "My Little Pony" as often as other ponies.  They're cool ponies, I just never thought of them as being iconic.

If I chose 1...
then SHS ponies, they always seemed prettier to me as a kid..

Also, in general, I liked the later year ponies because I thought there were more interesting.

Interesting on the big brothers. I also wouldn't call them iconic, but I wouldn';t say they were introduced later - at least in a European sense, we had adult boys in 1987 (Mountain Boys) then 1988 and 1989 (Adv. Boys/Big Brothers). Ponies here ran till 1994 though. So they're pretty much at the peak of the line for me.

I think they do have a certain popularity though...
