Isolation projects...

I've done it! Taffeta and I traded a year ago and I finally restored her.

I've come to realize that I'm a bit sad. Global pandemic is bumming me out, like everyone else. Limited thrifting, limited everything. There used to be a time we could trade internationally and not worry as much as we do now. There used to be a time when pony prices were a bit more reasonable... Had to get that out.

I'll add more that I've been working on to this thread later, I'm off to work!

Oh my goodness you are not alone!  It has been a serious bummer to see some the price increases (mountain boys come to mind!) when I loved that this was an affordable hobby and the shipping mess these bureaucrats have created is just awful ... not that there ain't a respiratory-bug out there but sorry the SARS/covid-19 virus was not worth shutting down the world - (thank you sweden to remain sane and open).  My dad's in rehab for a busted hip/replacement and at least we can schedule a skype call but the irony is people most prone to depression from isolation are now all getting isolated :-/

I hope you can at least get out in the sun a bit or at least get out for a walk?  I feel truly blessed we can at least get in a daily neighborhood walk and I can just sit out for just 5 mins to get a bit of vitamin D/sun...

your refurb is wonderfully done so please take solace in the small joys for now that at least we have the pony boards to stay connected :-)

sending ya online pony-hugs and hope we will get thru this latest shift :-)

focus on we landed our guys safely with spaceX yesterday - so will get there (I'm sucha trekkie) = no more just secret space program 21st century

Yeah I miss the pony thrifting (though I have been out a few times, when I probably shouldn’t have been. It wasn’t an elongated stay, the few times that I did. Just in, grab ponies and get out). It’s hard trying to find things to do while at home, glad you finally got your restorations off the back burner, OP. She looks real good!

I gotta make it my goal to do more photo stories with my hoard of ponies, to keep ME entertained...

Maycrestmom, it unfortunately is worth shutting down over because it's serious and very contagious and even when it's not deadly it messes people up too bad to work.
Now, we shouldn't have needed to shut down. But between so many people in the USA being idiots and brats about public health measures (whereas Sweden can trust its population to be adults), and the fact that we sat on our hands until after the spread exploded (instead of squashing the problem when it was still small, like we did with the Ebola outbreak)... Sigh.

Nice job restoring Honeycomb, mlp4me!

Currently trying to work more on the various sets and backdrops and whatnot I've been scheming on for years but never actually built.

Ah, the other projects I mentioned.

From what I've gathered from the grapevine a seller in WI got a lot with a buncha Peru's. I love walking pose and couldn't pass up a restore challenge!

Seller's photos. I can confirm, there's no brown Lickety like wiki has, she's just duuuuuurty, lol.

So much time baking in the back window of my car  3 months, then a few days in H202.

It was a pleasant surprise that Posey had her tail in her body!
Even though they both have hair/tail cuts I opted to keep 'em original. Flash washes their hair out a bit, I repinked using rit dye rose crystals. Eyes touched up on both.
I took liberties with Licketys ds symbol since it was 90% gone and brightened up her nds side.

Wow, Posey and Lickety turned out so well!  Posey's huge blue stains came out?! That's dedication!

Sunfading, patiently waiting, rotating regularly. It takes months, sometimes years here, the sun is not always strong.

Poor thing had pen on both sides, but oddly the tiny pink hilighter mark closer to her neck didn't fade. Usually hilighter like that goes quick...

I know what you mean...I also live in Wisconsin, and it does take forever. We live in the woods, and despite having a whole wall of windows in our living room, the only place I get decent sunlight is on the other side of the house about one hour of the day. My poor Majesty's head has been there for months trying to fade a greenish cast away (maybe she was stored next to a neon green-haired pony too long?), and progress is soooooo slow. But if that ink eventually came out for you, I am now hopeful that it can be done!

I am in awe! I honestly would have expected Posey to disintegrate or melt or something before that stain came out. =O
