Ok, does anyone in the USA have a place that sells actual nylon that's currently active? Other than Dollyhair...Retro dolls looks like it's taking a while and is taking a break...if not I'll keep using TheDollPlanet but I wanted something more bouncy.
I beheaded some fashion styles and am thinking of what to do with them.

I believe Dolltress has nylon. I haven't had a chance to order any myself but it looked promising.

edit: Actually, Dolltress looks to have the same stock as Dollyhair just with (mostly) different names.

I'm turning a small baby doll into a zombie with glowing eyes.  Missing  few fingers and toes.  Going to glue a magnet to her bum and stick her on a fridge.  Debating if she needs a little machete...

One of these days I am gonna figure a photo host thing and have lots of pics to post.  Size ref for my zombie:  stand her behind a coke can and she's a finger taller and about as wide.  Anyone know of any weapons that would fit?  Or suggestions on making?

Oh, a machete would be great. :D Or a classic baseball bat with nails.

My dragon is still sticky. I think it's because of the pony's plastic. Every coat of paint got sticky when I let it dry and now every coat of sealant is, too. All the sculpted parts are fine.
Any ideas what I could do with it? I'm not happy to sell it in my shop because it's not my usual quality, but I also put a lot of work into it.
Maybe I could auction it?

I've finally got back into some work; making hair plugs! Since I use the knot and loop method, it takes foreeeeever, but I've got a good rhythm going! Listening to a podcast makes it go so much faster! I did red months ago, then I did orange two nights ago, and yellow last night! I'm halfway through the rainbow!!

I do this method, too.  So I have a bunch of colors already made up for when I decide what to create.  Right now I have about 9 more colors I want to get done before I sit down and do some serious customizing.  I steal the hair from other dolls like Strawberry Shortcake and Disney Princess Fashion heads.  It works well because the plugs are already sized out for me and I end up with loads of plugs.  I buy them used at the thrift store, usually for less than $3 each.  When I finish I'll have to take a picture of all the colors I've ended up with doing it this way.

Puush is a genius!!!  There are 4 inch length baseball bats on eBay.  Texas Rangers seems appropriate....

 Thanks. I can't wait to see it.

I started with the needle&thread method back in 2009 (wow). Went through a lot of dental floss because it was the sturdiest thread I could find and easy to get in the needle.
But when I tried the rehair tool I never looked back. It's just quicker.
Rehairing is not my fave part of customizing, but I have several friends who love doing it, so sometimes I can outsource for tea and cookies = win-win-cookies situation.

The thing that really gives me a headache is styling hair. I just can't really do it. Most of my customs have unstyled long hair.

I've never used a needle.  I just use a push pin to get the hole a bit bigger and then put a loop of heavy fishing line through and use that to pull the plug through the hole.  The fishing line seems to hold up well.  I'm still using the spool I got when I started customizing years ago.  I'm sure it takes longer than a re-rooting tool but I kind of like the repetitiveness of it.  And I like that my plugs are good and secure even if I don't put any glue in the head to hold them in place.  My brushable customs can be brushed with no worry about pulling out the hair.
