Why are the eyes on the front of the face I really like the molds, but agh... don’t want my soul to get eaten by a funko pop in the middle of the night!

The proportions are cute and just right, but yeah, the eyes on the front of the face ruin it. The beady eyes wouldn't even be that bad if they were positioned correctly. What is it with companies wanting to put eyes on the front of horses' heads nowadays? A lot of unicorn-related things I've seen recently have had the eyes right in front like a dog. I guess it's a matter of being able to make them make more human expressions but... That doesn't mean it looks good.

I know that G5 leak talked about making the ponies more horsey but I don't think I expect that from G5 at this point. Watch, they'll probably give us snouts but at the cost of them looking like dogs.

Wow. Ok, that's a bit...I want to think they're cute, but I agree with LAW in general on the collector pony pose. But the eyes...in that size...in that context...it doesn't look right. I am not really that worried about acquiring these anyway, so my opinion probably doesn't matter. But yeah. They seem like they have Hallowe'en custom zombie written all over them.

Afraid I might've eyerolled at the IG comment about them being "the original set before FIM came out." Like there wasn't 25ish years of pony before FIM came out.

Hasbro's gone senile maybe.

the eyes look okay to me? The placement doesn't look -that- different to the actual Collector pose.. a bit stylized perhaps, but not "off". they do look a bit weird on the head-on photo but I think it's just the angle?

Are these standard POP size, or vinyl minis? If they’re standard size... I might have to grab them to go with my other retro toy POPs.

Ahh! They're so stupid looking, with their dead eyes combined with the sullen looking collector's pose, and I love them for it! I for one am glad that they have heads proportionate to their bodies, and they aren't in that square shape like the majority of Pops are.

I would have expected less effort on Funko's part when they made g1 ponies. I'm actually surprised by how cute they are. Also, plenty of cartoon horses have forward facing eyes. Even Disney is guilty of it. I'm so used to it in media it's not that big of a deal for me. I may pick some up if I find them.

I love the G1 funko ponies, and I normally hate funko. At least these guys have a snout I hate the stupid black eyes as always, but with some paint I think they can be fixed into something cuter! I repainted a Rainbow Dash funko keychain someone bought me, and after giving her a couple little eye sparkle dots, I love her!

I am looking forward to seeing repainted versions, though. I've seen some G4 POPs with the eyes repainted and they were super cute :>

I am glad they made Bluebelle after all, I was worried she'd be left out since she wasn't on the leaked release list.

I also dislike that Butterscotch has yellow hair, instead of that lovely caramel color.

I keep switching between liking the creepy-cute aesthetic these new G1 Funko Pops got going on and...not liking it. But it's interesting that they went with a style that resembles G1 more rather than just going with the regular Funko style. Glad they did that but something looks. Off. And it's not just the eyes.
