Also I think it's totally fine to disagree with the gender Hasbro gave them, I don't think that really makes them "wrong," I think that's just a personal opinion at that point.
They were the creators, so technically whatever they decided is what's "right" canonically for that character, even if it is a bit odd. But cartoons and toys, especially in the 80s, were never too concerned with accuracies like that.
