This is way off topic but I'm not sure what it has to do with Serenity. It's been too long since I saw the original series. But Usagi means rabbit. It's a joke on the Japanese tradition of a rabbit living in the moon.

But eh, I guess Serena is only the pony's name in one part of the world too, so in that context it works.

Thankfully dubs don't change the names of characters as much any more.

You know, all the princesses are starting to grow on me. My favorite is Tiffany/Pearl, though. She's a rare monochrome pony.

Pearl is my favourite; I love her monochromatic design too. Amethyst is an extremely close second, though.

 Princess Aquamarine is my favourite, I love her colours and pose, followed by Princess Amethyst and Princess Pearl (I recently sold her, feel a bit bad about it now ).

Does anyone else have a hard time distinguishing the Princess ponies from each other or is it just me? I think it's the fact that their symbols are non-entities; with other ponies I can remember, oh yeah, she has a clock for a symbol or she has cherries for her symbol and not to mention the name also helps me remember which one is which, but with names like "Dawn" and "Serena" and "Tiffany", I'm just like huh? Which one is which again?

Though, I DO remember Tiffany because she is a rare white pony with white hair, so that sets her apart from the others. And I remember Pristina because I owned her, so duh.

But the others? I have to look them up to remind myself who's who. I guess I need to study up on my Princess ponies some more!

It's not a problem for me but I use the UK names for the first set and grew up with their UK personalities, all of which make them pretty distinctive to me. They're all jewels, which the second set aren't, so that helps as well.

Ruby is pernickety, restless and fussy, Amber is optimistic and a go getter, Amethyst is a helpful klutz, Sapphire is the wise eldest, Pearl the sensitive artist, and Aquamarine the poetic dreamer. .

It's much easier to muddle the sets with the US names, esp since the US personas aren't that distinct (minor tweaks) and they used basically the same naming sense across both of the sets. For me it's helpful not having to deal with that because it's easy to remember set 1 = jewels and set 2 = more random and vaguely prom-queeny.

(Says this after 22 years using the handle 'Taffeta' with absolutely zero shame at being named after piece of fabric for 2 decades)

I picked Princess Royal Blue. However, this is a tough one for me as it's pretty much a three-way tie between Princesses Royal Blue, Primrose, and Starburst.
