We had the storm pretty good here too. A big tree fell in our yard...thankfully it didn't hit anything. Some of my husband's family about an hour south of us are still without power, I think. My friend kept texting me that I should go to the basement and freaking out because I wasn't, but I felt better being able to see what was going on. Besides, my 2 youngest were sleeping, and since we're in the midst of a basement remodel, there's not a safe place to let them play, so I didn't want to wake them up and have to lose their naps plus have to corral them in a corner indefinitely if there wasn't an actual tornado heading for my house. We rode it out just fine; my son and I watched the storm and did some art.

I've been doing terrible on my goals. 0's and 1's across the board. I mean, not getting done with breakfast until 11 am several days in a row kind of bad. We got the news that my son's summer school that was supposed to be this week got cancelled, so that was kind of a morale blow. I just feel like, what's the point. This doesn't bode well for school opening on time, so am I pushing myself to move our day earlier for nothing? I actually did make a real dinner last night, so there's that, but I had to wear needy babies in the sling to make it happen (this kills my back!), and even though they took turns, I still had a crying baby at my feet wanting to be held whole time. Ugh, I just need school to start so we can get in a real routine.

@Crowing Glory, congrats on the weight loss! The date book is a great idea.

As for me, it's been 1s and 0s the last few days. Today I'm going to aim for a 5. I'm almost done! I know I keep saying that but this time it's true  The last thing to do is take all my shelves down from the walls. I'm going to borrow my dad's drill to make it easier. I also need to do more laundry, wash all my blankets and stuff, since I won't have a washer and dryer for a while. I keep going past my move-in goals but I'm positive this time I'll be in my apartment next week :cheer: it's only taken a month and a half to pack.

I still have no power:( poo mooching of my inlaws at this point. Maybe by Tuesday. Hopefully sooner. I fell off the band wagon hard!!! 2 overly frosted cup cakes today and b.c ate too much with the kids...sigh it gets thrown if it's not eaten and I hate that. But I am using the the weekend to get back at it. Sadly I have an electric piano so no practice this week.

Keep all your work going. The new round will be Sept and oct.

Oh..... This is... This seems like something challenging for me right now, but perhaps needed.

What is your big goals?
I always have a bunch of big goals going at once, these right now are probably the big ones:
- Take my self-critic's power away from it, stop the self-fulfilling prophecy surrounding thoughts like "I am unreliable."
- Learn how to separate my artwork from my attempts at "success" in the hope that it can help me enjoy it again.
- Take breaks when needed, instead of pushing myself after I've already run out of energy.

What are the small goals to reach the big Goal?
- Focus on little, winnable goals. Even if they're really tiny things, just do what I can to build up some confidence so that I can fight back against that terrible self-talk.
- Recognize when my self-talk turns negative and critical, and try to be understanding of myself when it happens.
- Clean up little bits of my room each day I'm feeling well enough to promote a better, healthier, creative space.
- Take action on it any time I have a drawing or doodle idea, even if it's only a few minutes of sketching.
- Stick to my new boundaries and do not show off the artwork that was only made for myself.
- Check in with my energy levels at least twice each day.
- Try listening to music, watching a show, drawing, getting a nice cup of tea, daydreaming, and so on to get my mind off of things when I've hit my limit.
- Remind myself taking breaks is an important part of processing anything.

Tell us something you like about yourself:)
I am creative, and seem to be good at creating visualizations of abstract concepts. I have also been able to help people when they've needed it the most.

One of my biggest weaknesses is definitely getting obsessive with my problem-solving and progress-making. I forget things like enjoyment and I fail to relax, so I always end up just becoming rigid, cold, and calculated about anything I try to do, things like this included. Often even if I remember to check in I can't actually tell what I'm feeling anymore. All of that is to say.... this could turn out terribly for me. I think things like this get wrapped into my consistency/reliability negative self-talk. This seems fun and I want it to be so, I want to do my best and use this to try and help me with that very self-talk, but this means I may also end up going dark at times. I can't ask anyone to help me keep at it or stay consistent, but perhaps I can ask, at least for my own sake, to not judge me for it if I do end up having to stop.
