G3 Pose Observation
« on: July 04, 2020, 06:36:40 PM »
Is it just me or do certain G3 poses,  like donkey pose,  make ponies look smaller? I'll have to look at my herd and compare them,  but when I look a pics online I notice this with certain poses.

Lemme look at Tink for a minute.

ETA: I think it depends on the pose and how a pony holds its head. Ponies with their heads tossed up higher are gonna look taller, while ponies with their heads tucked, look shorter. Otherwise their backs are more or less level

Going from memory, I think the earlier G3 molds have bigger heads while later molds are more proportional. This is very apparent on poses like the walking pose or the Wysteria pose.

Ah, I recently got a bait g3 that was in the same pose as another one I have (Gem Blossom I think), but when I put them next to each other one is noticable smaller!  I'll try to get pics tomorrow.
Thanks to Shimmlight for the new avatar image

Oh, definitely! There's one mold... which one is it... *googles* the Beachberry pose? The one Midnight Dream's in. Looks fine in photos, but in person her legs look kind of stumpy and weird :/

Absolutely. The first release Rainbow Dash looked huge and bulky compared to others. Compare RD's trotting pose to similar one; the Sweetsong pose (only one pony character was ever made in this newer trotting pose, which is a big shame IMO)...
