Rosy, the little Maple Moth (Images!)

You can find the most curious things when you're outdoors! Ever since we got a Japanese maple sapling, I've noticed this little beast chewing on leaves in the garden. I'd discourage this sort of behavior, but who can say no to those eyes?visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Rosy is a customized BBE Baby Lofty with yarn flocking, resin eyes, and an extra pair of pink legs. She's based on the real life Rosy Maple Moth, and I think she captures at least a little of the fairylike cuteness of the real bug.

Wow, I saw the photos and had to scroll down, because I was thinking, is that fuzzy little pony really flocked, or is this some kind of trompe l'oeil painting style?! She's so precious!! The flocking really makes her! Great work!

Oh wow, that's a serious compliment, I'm blushing :blush: I'm glad I only chose to flock some parts of her honestly, it's tedious work! I'm glad it all paid off.

She's cute! What a great idea to do a moth pony. Your plants look gorgeous, too.

I'm going to have to look up a maple moth now...my mom just gave me my childhood field guide of butterflies and moths, I'm excited to see what this one looks like!

I am afraid of moths to be honest... but none of the moths around here look like that either  :lookround:
