Hello Everypony! Ponyqueen here to pass a message along from our pony friend Tootie Tails. Sounds like her gal pal Sea Breeze raved about the cabana party she had a couple years ago, so TT has decided to throw one as well! Here is the message:

"I am excited to host this summer's Minnesota Pony Jubilee at my seaside cabana! Let's get excited about a day filled with games & activities, contests, watersports, and fun times with friends! My co-host and I look forward to seeing you soon!    Tootie Tails"

Date: Labor Day Weekend *Sept 6 & 7*
~Sunday Night Bonfire, Monday Beach Day~
Location: Crystal Lake Beach, Burnsville
Time: Sunday evening bonfire, morning/midday beach

I think the co-host should be a sea pony. I am going to put my vote on a Baby Sea Pony, since the floats are so cute. Imagine the pictures! And to further those votes, my personal favorites are Backstroke and Tiny Bubbles.

Not knowing what the regulations of the beach are, will we be grilling, or is prepared cold food (pasta salads, etc) going to be the more for the day?   In the interest of social distancing and potlucking, I’m now wondering if pineapple upside-down cupcakes are a thing. 😆

Also, since the beach is rather public, I’m assuming there’s little-to-no sales going on? (Which is fine, if that’s the case—less for us to gather together for the get-together!) 🤔

Yes grills,  correct no sales at beach. Sales event will happen at private residence if there is enough interest.

Another option is to execute sales is the UK way: car boot style! We'll be at the park early to set up our beach zone,  so I think some condensed buying/selling/ trading could be done in the parking lot. My memory recalls that sales at the pirate party were not outrageous,  and time was focused on games, activities, and visiting.

This is a neat idea! Definitely would require me to finally make a list of who/what I have for sale and what box they're in, too. Not to mention making sure the car is cleaned before the meet!

Sales: I like the carboot idea! I was also thinking that we can message each other with sales, and just deliver to the meet. We can make sales posts here, or on the facebook chat. Kazzy, does the MN POny page allow for us to post individual sales albums? I'm not savvy enough to know the easiest way to do that.

Food: I have a snack mix that I have been dying to try for a couple of years now. I will make that, and individually bag them! As a bonus, popcorn is involved, and my new favorite toy is an air popper. So when potluck choices start being posted, put me down for snack bags!

Watersports: I have a couple kayaks, but if we are at the swimming beach, they are probably not allowed at the beach. Does anyone know about the rules for that? I would be perfectly happy to bring them and let people play in them (DO NOT HURT MY BOATS!!!!), if that is the sort of thing we are doing. Otherwise, it would be really fun to see who comes up with the strangest floating/relaxing thing! I have an inflatable sea serpent here somewhere....

The main book keeper has already requested Labor Day off; we did just train two more backups, though, so I’m going to request Sunday/Monday off, and we’ll see what happens.

Funsie!  I will keep an eye on this thread!  I miss my pony friends!  Unfortunately August is looking pretty booked with alot of things pushed off til late summer cause of Corona   hopefully we can make it!

Regretfully, I am going to have to back out of this. I've been preparing for it- I have a muumuu (really? That's how it's spelled?) and fancy paper plates and everything, but I have another event shortly afterwards, and I am not ready to play respiratory roulette at this point. PQ, let me know if you need any money for the rental--- I originally said I would go, so I am still happy to pay for my part if you need me to.

Sad, as this is the first MN Pony Meet I will be missing! I expect disjointed and very weird pictures!
