Restoring G1 Petite Pony Hair Curls?
« on: May 06, 2020, 12:24:47 PM »
Hey pony peeps! I'm just curious if anyone has had any luck restoring the curls of the petite ponies, if their hair is a bit frizzy but still has some curl intact. Anyone have a method or level of success with that? Or is it a lost cause?

Thanks in advance <3

I have one I got in a lot that was pretty messy and I was able to get her back to how she should be...unfortunately that was years ago and i don't remember exactly what I did.  Most likely I washed and conditioned in lukewarm water, and then...if you kind of pull it while twisting it in the direction it "wants" to go, it will try to form itself back into the correct curl.  Sorry I can't give you better instructions   But it turned out really well!

I realized you might be talking about the little tiny ringlet curls, in which case, I don't know, but the mlp preservation project has an example of a petite like that in the hair section:  http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/hair.html
Just scroll down to the "Re-curling" section.  Its very encouraging...

I find that the inside of a ballpoint pen is good for tiny, tight curls. I use those cheap papermate pens. They haven't leaked on me once, thankfully.

Ah, that's a GREAT idea, I just threw out an empty pen refill yesterday that I can rescue. I have a lot of PP on the way, and some of the 'permed' ponies need some TLC for sure!

That's my wee petite with the restored ringlet curls :) It was fiddly but I achieved that by using toothpicks.
If it's not a ringlet restore, then I find using the same methods as you would use on a normal sized pony's hair works just fine. Wash, condition; straighten and re-curl if required.

it is a ringlet restore, I should have been more specific! Your results were great!
